All I know is that eel sauce tastes like freaking candy, and it's downright delectable on sushi.


I on the other hand had Chinese tonight.

To never be unsatisfied with Chinese food you have to NOT order from the fast food styled Take out places. REAL Chinese food is not as oily or drowned in sauces filled with high fructose corn syrup. Some times I look at the "sauces" that they use and I feel like they just heated up some cough medication.

So... It's June the sixth and thus the anniversary of the D-Day landing. Are there any stories of family members that served during WWII that anyone would care to share?

Here's mine. My Grandmother's brother Michael volunteered for the service when he was 16. He lied about his age and got himself into the Air Corp. as a gunner on a B-17. He had flown a few missions when he was shot down over occupied France. My Grandmother still can remember when her mother received the news, as she was notified in person. This was her oldest son. Unknown to all though was that he had in fact survived the crash of his plane and for 2 months made his way towards the Allied lines being helped by various French people in the countryside. He returned home injured but to his family it was as if he had indeed been raised from the dead.
