Anyone ever experiment around with dream control? I've been able to, at times, take complete control of my dreams, which essentially allows me to do anything I want. There are no limits.

The hardest part is realizing you're dreaming in order to take control. Thus, I can't do it all the time, but I can do it frequently enough that the experiences are very memorable.

The other aspect of this is actually remembering the dreams. Everyone dreams every night, but few remember those dreams. I have found that waking up every couple hours (after a dream cycle using the alarm clock) and jotting my dreams down helps with this. Or maybe that's weird, I dunno.

Anyway, just thought it would make for an interesting topic.

I've done it once but i was only able to realise i was actually in a dream world, i wasn't able to manipulate anyone else's actions.

most of the times i start to realise i'm in a dream, i wake up.

unfortunately this one time happened when i was relatively young so i wasn't able to take full advantage of the situation at hand and instead i just did crazy dances everywhere...

next time, it;d be like GTA, most definitely...

Well the more you do it, the more control you have because the more you realize that it's *your* dream. When I take control, I'm able to control everyone in the dream and make them do anything I want.

The amazing thing is how real it seems when you're able to manipulate everything.

i've never been able to do true lucid dreaming. there are times i've become aware that i was in a "dream"....but as a character in it, i didn't necessarrily know what a "dream" was ()...if that makes any sense.

I went through a period several years ago where i became conscious of my own dream 'network' so to speak. I could reacall, while dreaming, the spaces, landscapes, etc. of dreams i'd had from several other nights, and i coudl even start to "map" out how the spaces from one dream would connect with others.

but i've never been able to fly or change details exactly.

I remember an instance in my childhood where I had a dream I kept waking up from a dream. I've tried lucid dreaming in the past, but usually after realizing I'm dreaming I can't do anything about it. I don't dream very often anymore.:csad:

I can't predict or control much during lucid dreams. I'm just simply aware of where I am. A dreamworld inside my brain.

ha! I flew over some mountains a couple nights ago! It was awesome! :oldrazz:

I do a lot of meditation and have learnt how to do some amazing things with my dreams, my body, my health, etc. There are many un-explained things when it comes to the human mind and body, but I will say this. Dreams have the potential to create an inner strength that most humans are not aware of. If you do a google for ki/chi or ancient meditation you might find some stuff relating to this. I can confirm some of it through my personal experiences so if there are any questions please ask away.

I never dreamed of flying until I started skydiving. Interestingly, I used to dream of falling a lot, but that stopped after I started jumping  Weird.

I've never consciously tried to control my dreams, but I have been self-aware in a few, like others have mentioned. I remember very few at all anymore.

truth be told, i do like the path my mind normally takes me through during a dream, it can be very insightful

there are very few times where you have no control over a situation and the outcome cannot affect you in the slightest. I like my dreams the way they are.

Hmm, my dreams are usually quite normal everyday life stuff so sometimes I am unaware that I'm actually dreaming. There has been cases when I refer to stuff in real life, and then remember that it was all just a dream and it didn't really happen. I think I might have had lucid dreams when I was younger, but I've most certainly haven't had any in the past five years. :csad:

Sometimes I dream like that. But it's not completely lucid, because I'm not sure that I'm in a dream, but when I wake up it feels as if I were actually there, doing whatever it was. Takes a few seconds for me to realize I'm actually laying down when I wake up. Hahah.

I have had a couple of dreams where I realized in was dreaming and in one dream I remember closely analyzing details of what I saw for the express purpose of remembering when I woke up.

I also had a dream where again I realized I was dreaming, so I decided to attempt to fly, which at first I had some trouble but then it worked. It was absolutely amazing, especially since I am afraid of heights, but not in my dream flying under my own power.

has anyone ever tried reading in a dream?

ever since that batman episode 'perchance to dream' when bruce wayne realises he was in a dream because he couldn't dream, i have tried for years to actually read while in a dream

the funny thing is that you manage for form a sentence but you can't actually read what is infront of you. I wonder whether what i see while i'm dreaming is how dyslexic people see numbers and letters.

I've been able to do it before, but not often. I usually wake up once I realize I'm dreaming.

I can do that sometimes, but not very often. One time I even made myself have a dream of something I was thinking of before I fell asleep.

I never remember my regular dreams, but I've become very good at lucid dreaming (some would call it astral projection). It's a very good stress management tool and I come away feeling refreshed and energized, particularly on a creative level, from it.

I have lucid dreams quite frequently. I'm able to realize that I'm dreaming and have in the past been able to do it AS SOON as I fell asleep too.

I can control them somewhat. Not every aspect of it but most of it. I usually fly around but from time to time I've lost that ability and came crashing down. And it's certainly not true that if you fall from a large height in your dream and hit the bottom you die. I've done it over and over again.

I've gotten some of my most creative ideas while lucid dreaming too. I just got a copyright on one of them actually and I'm going to be pitching that idea to Mark Burnet (Survivor) in December...only Mark doesn't know that...LOL!

I was obsessed with dreams for awhile,I bought several dream dictionaries and journals, but my interest has all died down.
Only occasionally have I made an attempt to control my dreams, they were very scary and I wanted it to end.

I like jumping off stuff when im dreaming. night time rush when hitting the floor and waking up :D

I have yet to really experience it.

I have often realised i am dreaming, and often stop dreaming at that point, but even when I kept dreamin, I could not control anything. Infact sometimes I lost control.

Actually, every single dream I have where I can fly, as soon as I realise it, that is, realise that I have been flying and can fly, and, or, am dreaming, I cannot fly any more.

Every single time, i lose the ability.

I hate that.

Thats bunk. I've read in dreams.

i've tried many times.... lol it's hard. especially hard for you to realize quickly that it's a dream...
