Just finished it. Wow, I really wasn't expecting much outside a stupid, but fun action movie and was actually knocked off my ass by how good it was. It was really clever, had a plot that kept you guessing, good twists and well written and developed characters.

I would definitely like to see a Lucky Number Sleight or something along those lines that explores Mr. GoodCat and Slevin some more.

You're on a roll today Matt:woot:

I was also surprised by this one,the reviews were mixed and i figured another Tarantino wannabe but i actually enjoyed it more than his movies.

Willis was great as always but it was the Hartnett performance that glued the movie IMO,the story unfolds intricately and the bursts of action are cool,i really loved the stuff with Lucy Lui and Hartnett,it gave the film some heart.

I guessed early on the twist though:cwink:

EDIT*Didn't guess the second twist though which was awesome:D

Haha, yeah, I was expecting Tarantino wannabe as well. And you are 100 % right. Hartnett made the movie. His chemistry with other characters (especially Liu) was the highlight of the movie. He is definitely one of the more underrated actors in Hollywood.

I partially guessed the twist (I figured Slevin was Henry) and I guessed Mr. Good Cat was the one who was meant to kill him...but I didn't put together that Slevin orchestrated the entire thing.

I liked the film alot Willis and Hartnett were great

...I'm gonna have to rent this.. or atleast Torrent it.

Yeah, the reviews made the film sound pretty bad, but I really enjoyed it.

Decent acting, quirky story, funny, dramatic, bits of everything.

It was a really good movie.
Lucky Number Sleight?
How about a prequel? Lucky Number Slix?

I loved this movie. Good acting. Hartnett won my respect with this film. I also loved the twists at the end of the movie, although part of one twist was a bit hard to swallow...

When Slevin killed the Boss' son, why did they assume he'd call Goodcat to take out the Rabbi's son? Goodcat hadn't set foot in the city for roughly 10 years (when he refused to kill Henry). That was kind of a leap. Goodcat pretty much stopped talking to the Boss & Rabbi. Who's to say they didn't add a new hitman or two to their dossiers?

L#S is one of the hidden gems of 06, it has everything you could ask for in a movie imo, Hartnett rules in it and won millions of brownie points with me

Kingsley is great to, the whole movie is great

Great movie. I figured out part of the twist
Slevin was the kid
but was still surprised by the rest
GoodKat was supposed to kill him, and that they planned the whole thing together
I woulnd't mind seeing a prequel or a sequel. Instead of calling it Lucky Number Sleight or Slix, they could always find another phrase with the word seven in it and replace it with Slevin. Like "Slevin Days Later" or something.

I agree the guy gets an unduly hard time.

Yeah i didn't guess to the level that it was all plotted out just that GoodKat and Slevin were together in it somehow.....i really didn't see the cop twist though at the end.:wow:

I can't help but notice your user name, and if you are a fan of the old Hollywood noir films, you would love Lucky Number Slevin.

"Slevin" was an excellent film, and I didn't catch ANY of the twists until the second before they were revealed.

But I'd definately watch a Prequel/Sequel.

CAH

I thought this was one those movies thats "so bad its good" kinda of movies. But it had me glued in from start to end. Lucy Liu is so sexy!

In what way was it bad?

I'm not saying its the best movie ever, or of the year, but I don't see how it is bad

Kinda sad that it got so many bad reviews, but when are most people not idiots, anyway?
This movie is amazing, I love it so much.
Very, very rewatchable, IMO.

I think all the Tarantino wannabes before it really hurt this movie critically

but I don't let critcs control my likes and dislikes, I only use them for when I am in an argument with my friends as to how awesome Hellboy is, and point to its 75 percent on RT:woot:

It's inhuman not to love Hellboy.
But yeah, most wannabe movie critics on the Internet are ******s who fancy themselves "witty".
I've seen some in here :wow:

oops. I meant to say that was my thoughts before watching the movie. Sorry. It was really good movie.

It suffered from this Dawson's Creek type of dialog.
And it was a little predictable. It was obvious that the little story in the beginning would come back somehow.

I can totally see how it isn't a 10/10, or 9

Like I think it is a 7.5ish 8

But if we go by RT standards here, I don't see how someone could say it is below a 6 like below a 6 is X1/X3, and like a 3 or a 4 is Daredevil, and a 0 is Ghost Rider, like L#S I thought was much better than those

yeah it has its flaws all movies do, but it still baffles me how there where that man negative reviews for it

Just like how the hell could 6 percent of Critics give Casino Royale less than a 6/10?

Hey there HR, how are you, you big mod? :D
I usually post under this name, it's just that I had to use the Gammy account for something as important as L#7 ;)

I'm fine:woot:had no idea you had 2 SN's,great to see you posting man:up:
