2K Mafia: Definitive Edition (Remake)

But the only thing is the original Mafia and Mafia 2 didn’t have side quests if I remember but I do think Mafia 3 does have a few.
The first Mafia had a "free roam" mode where you could do side missions to earn money: killing gangsters, playing "taxi", etc. If I remember correctly the map was smaller compared to the main game's.

Mafia II had all that integrated in the main campaign. I suppose they're not really side missions/quests similarly found in RPGs.

One nitpick that does bug me a bit though is that Tommy's animations are straight up ripped from Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3. I get that it's probably easier to do this way but something feels off about it. I feel like Tommy and Lincoln are such different characters that should be reflected in the way they move/shoot, etc.
Mafia: DE uses the same engine as Mafia 3 (the remake is being made by the same developer that did the third game), although it's an updated version. That's also why there seems to be more cover-shooter gameplay in the DE and that alarms me a bit.

The new voice actors and character design for the Mafia 1 remake looks absolutely awful and generic. Very disappointing.

Damn well I only played the game once on xbox but that’s cool that it had those features. Maybe I played some of those modes but it’s been years lol.

I never played Mafia 1 only part 2 on PS3/360 and bought mafia 3 new when it came out for a bit before selling it to a friend with other games cause I was short on $$$. I have the digital version of Mafia 3 thanks to PS Plus but I may get the one that has all 3 down the line.

Never played the first, the second is amazing and currently on the 3rd game on my PS4 but definitely worth a purchase.

never played 1 loved what I played in 2 and dabbled in 3 lol I will have to get this game for sure

I am Currently playing Mafia 3.

Though I didn't know Mafia Trilogy is going to be released in disc, so I am gonna double dip for Mafia 3 in a way and buy the Trilogy collection, to play the first and second game.

Like I’ve stated I am a little upset that we’re not getting a physical edition of the trilogy in the states but I’ll get over it lol. It’s just I’m not really a digital as my first go to type of guy I’m more of a disc copy man but since I wanted the trilogy I went digital but it’s good because I do have certain games digital. So basically psylockolussus I’m saying I’m jealous lol. Honestly I do have to admit that it is nice that I’ll be able to skip GameStop and download the Mafia: DE on my PS4 right at midnight.

I only found about this because I saw a poster in my retail store though I thought it was just for the first game. Then when I looked up online to see if Mafia 2 is available, its going to be included in the Trilogy disc instead.

That being said, I'm going to wait until its 30 dollars.

got mine today and found out I had a 10 dollar coupon that expired in a few days so I got it for 30 bucks not to bad gonna play it later today at the moment my PS4 is unhooked (moved it to the living room so me and a friend could watch a movie on VUDU on it).

My retail store is selling the trilogy for 62 dollars and thats going to be much expensive that the next two games that I plan to buy.

So I have to wait for a price cut especially I've read that there's not much side quests in the first game and the 2nd game is just a remaster. For me, its just not worth 62 dollars and I just bought Mafia 3 last week.

Absolutely loving the game so far, it's so well done

where are you at cause as far as I know here they only had the trilogy in digital.

I have not opened mine I pre ordered mine is the stuff for the pre order goodies in the game cause normally it is a code on the receipt and I have both of mine (when I pre ordered it and when I picked it up today) and no codes I could see.

I live in Southeast Asia. the physical disc for the Trilogy is only available for the ps4 though according to my retail store.

thought so as all the physical versions of trilogy I saw were from outside my region

my face when I saw I can drive around 1930s city in a 60s muscle car in free mode (clay's car from part 3).

There are two new games in the Top Ten physical retail charts this week, and both in 2K Games' Mafia series.

Mafia: Definitive Edition debuts at No.3 and it's a remake of the 2002 original. This new version has been developed by Hangar 13, the team behind 2016's Mafia 3. Meanwhile the Mafia Trilogy (which includes the Definitive Edition, a remaster of the second game and Mafia III) comes in at No.6. Neither product has sold particularly strong in physical form, although it's worth noting that digital data is not included in this chart.

any of you guys have issues with the pre order bonus? I entered the code in the game case but I do not see the car or the don suit etc is it only for story mode or was it a free mode thing?

I bought Mafia Trilogy today and damn..... the packaging is amazing! It was only $40 because of the New Year Lunar sale. 3 discs, in a thick book-like cd case and it comes with a poster and some codes. And its only thicker than my other ps4 discs so it doesn't look out of place in my shelf.

What I like about T2 games (GTA V, RDR3, Mafia 3 and now Mafia Trilogy) is the standard physical edition comes with a poster or map. Not a lot of studios do that unless you buy the deluxe/collectibles edition. I can't wait. I already played Mafia 3 so I'm not gonna play that now. I'm playing Mafia 2 (I read it is buggy, so we'll see) first. Then Mafia 1.
