I saw something like this on Glenn Beck today. Here are my demands, from ANYONE with ANY PARTY that will do it. The first few are almost verbatim with what a person mailed Glenn Beck about, and I significantly agree...some are mine.

Stop coddling Illegal Immigrants
I want illegal immigration stopped. Legal Immigration is fine, stop the walking across the line. Deport those here illegally. Simple as that.

No further funding for TARP
All payments stop. All unspent funds are removed from possible use. Repeal the TARP bill.

Czars
Fire em all. Where are the checks and balances in the government? There are processes in place already. If they don't work, modify them, don't hire one guy to ruin the checks and balances in the government

Global Warming debate is not over
Plenty of climatologists say it does not exist. Plenty say it does. Lets not assume it exists. Lets not assume it does not exist. Let the debate continue, lets not write sweeping legislation that goes one way or another. Granted, I believe something is going on, but it could be nothing but a simple warming trend, or not. Lets not end the debate here.

Don't Rush into Universal Health Care
Granted I personally don't like it at all. but if there was a politician that said he would examine it, and work on it over time and really pound it out, without shoving it down my neck in record time. This is such a sweeping thought, any rush on this will completely screw it up.

State Sovereignty Restored
Simply put, the end of the Massive Federal Buildup. Massive Federal programs need to end and handed back to the states. The Fed is only given a few inherant powers. You have stepped far over the line. I want a complete review of all laws on the book and striking those you cant enforce because if violates the 10th Amendment. Less government, not more.

Acorn for 2010 Census
Acorn needs to be investigated, COMPLETELY. They should not be let anywhere near the 2010 Census. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

If I work for it, It's Mine
Frankly put, its mine. No you cant have it. Redistribution of wealth ends here.

Charity stays Local
Let the local communities that know the local issues best help each other. Get out of our way and let us do it.

Corporate Bailouts End
Corporate Darwinism is where its at. They do good, the do business, they do bad, they die. Simple as that.

Audit the Fed
The title says it all. I want to see the books.

Spending
This goes hand in hand with many other things, but I have seen way too much unneeded spending going on. End it. Now.

Let me guess what will happen with that: someone will agree to it during the campaign and then forget it when they're elected ad infinitum.

That is a big issue for me as well. Illegal immigration was barely touched upon in the election because they didn't want to alienate one of their big voter bases. Illegal aliens get every single perk that citizens get and all they pay for is sales tax. It pisses me off that I pay for illegal aliens to come over and get free health care and then border hop right back over. I have even heard of them coming over to have a child because of the free health care and then their child is a dual citizen and the just head back. Illegal immigration is a huge problem and a huge topic and our current presidents doesn't want to touch the issue.

Stormin...that guys has sideburns...I don't...that is INSULTING

Be careful Malice, you're starting to become a grumpy old man :funny:

The most the contrarians can hope to do is control the narrative of the consequences. If (more like when) the economic stimulus fails, don't let the mainstream make it seem like they "did not spend enough money". That seems to be what buttclowns like Paul Krugman are already trying to set it up as.

Out of everything, illegal immigration is number one on your list. Wow, you really are from Texas.

What do you think about church/state separation Malice? And what do you think about pharmacists being allowed to not distribute contraceptives?

I think that was overturned when Obama took office. Here's something interesting from the Cato Institute.

Here we go
What do you think about church/state separation Malice?
I think this means the government cannot interfere and sponsor a religion. Simple as that. I am basically a non-practicing Catholic, I have problems with the organized religion called Catholicism. I don't have a problem with prayers in school and things like that. If you don't like it, don't participate.

If Romney who is Morman, or anyone else who was Muslim, I wouldn't care. I don't see a problem with it, its who the US is. Religious or NOT religious.

And what do you think about pharmacists being allowed to not distribute contraceptives?
I honestly don't know anything about this...what is this all about? For my education...

I see your link was pointing to it...reading it partially now.

Corporate Bailouts End
Corporate Darwinism is where its at. They do good, the do business, they do bad, they die. Simple as that.

Yes, yes. Goddammit, yes!

If a corporation goes under because of mismanagement or gross inefficiencies, then let it go under.

The customers of this company will take their business to competitors, strengthening those companies (important in a weak economy). The companies will need to buy additional supplies and hire more experienced workers to compensate for the additional demands placed on them by the new customers. Those supplies will come from the old company's suppliers, as well as the now unemployed workers.

Not only does this help rid the market of inefficiencies, which makes the economy stronger, it keeps the taxpayers from having to shell out unnecessary money.

If bailout money is given out (which isn't a bad idea in a weak economy since it can help get money into the system, and get the economy rolling again) then it should get as much bang for the buck as possible. Giving it to failing companies props up inefficient businesses, with no guarantees the money will be properly spent.

Some other ways the $700 billion bailout could have been spent?
- Save Social Security and still have a couple hundred billion left over
- Save Medicare with several hundred billion left over (I believe both Social Security and Medicare could have been saved)
- Pay off every student loan in the country, which, if I remember correctly, would have only cost $50+ billion. (So, instead of just giving the money straight to the lenders, not only do lenders get their money back anyway, but the students are no longer in debt, they can now spend/save their monthly payments which boost the economy, and the lenders have a new load of money to loan to new students, improving the education level of the country)
- Repair/ugrade every bridge and and interstate road, with hundreds of billions still left over, and huge number of construction jobs feeding money into the economy

OK I read it.

But even the jaded may find their breath taken away by the stunning decision of the California Supreme Court on March 2, holding that Catholic Charities could be compelled to violate Catholic doctrine by offering its employees insurance coverage for contraceptive products.
The case, Catholic Charities of Sacramento, Inc., v. Superior Court, tested the constitutionality of the Women's Contraception Equity Act (WCEA), a law that requires California employers to provide coverage for contraceptives as part of a health insurance package. The California legislature had found that 10 percent of health plans did not offer such coverage, and attributed this deficiency to discrimination against women. WCEA was intended to remedy this discrimination.

Why is the govt involved here? That to me is a violation of rights.
Law cannot step on your individual rights, except in extreme circumstances...such as human sacrifice. To me... Why not just re-word the law to say you must prevent it unless religious beliefs are impinged.

And what do you think about pharmacists being allowed to not distribute contraceptives?
I honestly don't know anything about this...what is this all about? For my education...

During the last month of Bush's term, he passed legislation that allowed people in the workplace to not be obligated to hand out prescriptions such as birth control or perform certain surgical procedures if it conflicted with their religious beliefs. That would included places like paramacies and Catholic hospitals.

Disregard. I see you're on it already. I just couldn't remember the name of the legislation.

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I tired google but it yielded nothing. Probably because I didn't have the right tag words.

I vaugely remember something like that...I am ok with it.

Here's something I would also put on this list of demands for all and any politicians.

Don't ever pull this ****!

If you mean, showing their ignorance of military etiquette......yeah, she pretty much showed herself to be a b****.
