Speaking of conspiracies I just found this out

which has a quote in it about

Why do we ignore this? The treaty was made in 1797 and many of our founding fathers were part of it. Shouldn't this be a debate settler

From the same article: "The treaty was broken in 1801 by the Pasha of Tripoli over President Thomas Jefferson's refusal to submit to the Pasha's demands for increased payments." - Well that is why. And the smal fact that, of the states signing the treaty, the US is the only state that is left.

I agree with Alan Moore, although conspiracies do happen all the time. They're just not as neat and cinematic as most of the popular ones. Most of the time it's like "I'll take some money off the top, don't tell anyone okay?" or covering up the secret of a person with a lot of influence.
