Rickie La Touche Found Guilty Of Murder: Man Strangled Wife After She Smashed 'Star Wars' Toys

A 30-year-old British man was found guilty of murder for strangling his wife, whom he said had damaged his extensive collection of "Star Wars" toys.
Rickie La Touche, also known as Rickie Nehls, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 12 years, The Telegraph reports.
La Touche confessed to killing Pornpilai Srisroy, 28, in April at their house in Leigh, Greater Manchester. He told Preston Crown Court that Srisroy tried to make his life miserable by, among other things, smashing a collection of "Star Wars" memorabilia he had built up since childhood.
He claimed that Srisroy had previously hit him with with a pool cue, and had threatened to kill him while he was asleep and "cut him up and eat him," according to The Daily Mail. She also threatened to leave him and return to her native Thailand, in La Touche's account.
"We argued and she said she was going to make my life hell. She's put me through it before. I couldn't let that happen again," he told the court. "I then just remember getting up from on top of her. I think I've choked her,"
The two had met while La Touche was on vacation in Bangkok in 2001, he told the court. They married after his fourth visit in 2003, and Srisroy received a UK visa two years later.
After the verdict, police reacted soberly, the BBC reports.

"La Touche will now also have to live the rest of his life with the awful knowledge that he is responsible for killing his wife."
Srisroy's mother, meanwhile, paid tribute to her daughter. "Although small in stature she had a big heart and brought happiness to her friends and family," she said.

Star Wars Episode VII: A Serious Business.

I don't know, if my wife threatened to kill me and eat me in my sleep, I'd grab my Star Wars collection and high tail it out of there.

So did he use the force to choke her?

Someone was going to say it anyway and I feel fine being that guy.

Don't **** with a nerds Star Wars collection.

I don't think he killed her over a bunch of Star Wars toys. The article says he had been going through a lot of mental abuse from her and I take it this was the last straw. I'm not saying he was justified in what he did, I'm just saying he didn't do it over some stupid toys.

A HYUK HYUK HYUK U GUYS R SO FUNNY.

What is wrong with you people? A person died here.

This is a terrible story. A family lost their daughter, a man took another person's life and now lost his freedom, and here you people are making light of it all. Disgusting.

I take it you're not familiar with these parts.

But like Chris Rock said...

I'm not saying he should have killed her, but I understand.

As is typical the media all but ignored everything to highlight the Star Wars angle, barely throwing in a reference to the years of mental abuse and threats of murder against him. It sounds so much better to say he murdered her over some Star Wars toys.

Here's my little theory...

Nerdboy here is having a tough time with the ladies. However, he's got money, so he reads up on Thailand. Finds out all about the sex trade there and how he can basically buy a wife. Makes a few trips, and tada, wife. She probably resented him after a while, started making his life as miserable as her own. Sadly, she wound up dead instead of divorced.

So, that leads to today's safety tip: Don't buy a wife, especially from a foreign country.

Wow!!! A Star Wars fan with a girlfriend?

But but, she was alive. I felt it. I.... I.... NoooOOOooooOOO

She was hot, so I'm angry.

But seriously, we've had stories on here with chicks killing their husbands over less trivial stuff and joked about it, so it's not like it's any less morbidly humorous.

Lesson to learn from this story.

If you wife is threatening to kill you, cut you up and eat you... GET A DIVORCE!

She threaten to 'cut him up and eat him'.. WTF?!

See, I wonder if that's true or if he made it up to get sympathy.

This...is...just weird. First off the deceased wife was a crazy yet attractive Razzle Dazzle woman who overreacted to something pretty silly. And then the guy himself strangles her for damaging his Star Wars collection. And people have the nerve to say I'm crazy?

I just thought of this right now but should we dismiss this man's claims she mentally abused him though? I mean I grew up in the 80's before all the laws were passed to protect women in abusive situations and the old ridicule factor was utilized pretty liberally back then when a woman was basically being abused. There was even a movie starring Farrah Fawcett back then about a woman who was being abused so violently that she burned her husband alive called The Burning Bed. How can we use such a double standard when the man is the victim by saying he was making it all up?
