There are just some lines of Geekdom geeks don't cross though. Dressing up like a superhero/heroine is one thing, but spending money to get rid of your uniqueness to look like one is borderline crazy to me.

Gotta agree with this. While I might think about going to a Halloween party or comic convention dressed as a superhero, I wouldn't consider surgery to make myself look more like Spider-man or something.

There are only the lines you set for yourself. I also find that a bit extreme but I would not make fun of the guy.
