Moving Pacific Rim to an earlier date is to avoid competing with Robopocalypse since they have such similar elements but to have MOS taking its place sandwhiches it with Kosinski's sci-fi flick.

No doubt on Rim wanting to avoid Robopocalypse. Just threw up a post fifteen minutes ago saying that too. But all WB would do is throw The Man of Steel on July 26 (Thor 2's original release and the week after Oblivion/Horizons/Whatever) and they're good.

Now that the sequel to Thor has been pushed back with a reach of a choice for a new director.....what are the chances WB's makes a wise move and pushes the release date of MOS to Thor 2's former July release date?

Let's hope WB's makes the move ASAP to move MOS to July! :supes:

Fair enough, Lighthouse.

Been back and forth rumors that The Hobbit is dragging its feet in shooting and may not be ready for next Christmas. So there's that (Plus isn't The Man of Steel going to be finished filming at the end of January?)

But as of right now, you'd have to say late July 2013. WB loves that slot after The Dark Knight and the big movie that was supposed to go there Pacific Rim just moved up to the second weekend of May.

Mix that together with Thor 2 now being off that summer altogether, and I think we're looking at The Man of Steel moving to the studio's reliable mid/late July slot.

If the film were to be ready; I would have preferred for its original 2012 Christmas Release and have the Hobbit pushed later on IF it wasn't able to meet its deadline as well.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I always enjoy reading the discussions that go on in this thread. People like Kurosawa have helped me learn a lot about Superman in the process.

Yeah. That sounds good, but pushing it up to early spring 2013 would be even better. Fast Five did gangbusters the last weekend of April... hint, hint WB!

Wonder why kind of battle or fight Clark gets into to get his pants so ripped in the new photos. Also wonder what's around his neck.

Well, the WB has slated The Great Gatsby for a Christmas Day 2012 release. If Jamie's rumor pans out, I expect The Hobbit to get pushed to June 13, 2013 and MOS to July 13 or 26th.

I saw that earlier and meant to post about it.

Of course my post would have gone something like this:

'OMG, someone's added Darkseid to the cast of MOS with Michael Clarke Duncan in the role :lmao:'

:p

It's not true. How do I know? Because I added MDC as Darkseid. Why? The Natasha Irons and Steve Lombard castings seemed strange to me, particulary as I saw Keke Palmer (Supposedly Natasha) in the list as some weird character with a name I dont remember, some alien name. Then it dissapeared. So I thought I'd check it out and see if it really is so easy to edit IMDB and sure enough, 4 days after my entry MDC in the list. :whatever:

Mind you, yesterday I also added Jackie Earle Haley as Desaad and increased the budget to 225.000.000. So lets see if this gets in too. :hehe:

So I was watching Seinfeld, I know a dangerous thing, and it got me thinking. Does Superman have a great sense of humor?

Am I missing something here? Why is it a dangerous thing?

And I remember that episode, funny discussion between Jerry and George.

This isn't a new thing, IMDB has always been like that, which doesn't mean its Wikipedia but...it's still not that reliable.

Quick question for everyone.

I don't know if the subject has been raised yet (given there is SO much info in this forum) but has there been any talk about the possibility of the production being for two movies back to back?

It never occurred to me to ask when they announced the movie would be released in 2013, but that's a long production slate for any one movie.

Production still finishes as and when it would have when it was slated for 2012, but it was pushed back so as to not have to compete with The Hobbit.

Anyone know when we can expect a trailer for MoS? :D

Anyone know when we can expect a trailer for MoS? :D

Next summer for sure. Either with their final batman(in a bid to keep their momentum) and/or at comic con. A place they will rule thanks to disney xenophobia. Of course they may have to deal with Trek and LOTR but when it comes to the "comic" con crowd there will be a buzz surge waiting for Cavill to smile his magic smile and for the rest of cast to make their first time appearance and all that wonderful jazz.

The thing is they pushed their release date back so that enables them to really refine any footage they wanna show the public unlike say GL which was rushed by newbs using tech they didn't completely understand. MOS will no doubt warp photography before next summer(if not sooner) and the only question will be will they cop out and show a non descript teaser with bats or something else.

Snyder does tend to have a way with trailers.

Next summer for a (special)Teaser with batman(see watchmen)
Comic con for footage we'll never see
Winter release(lotr) Trailer 1
Superbowl spot (American hero after all)
Trailer 2 may 2013

bet on it

So I was watching Seinfeld, I know a dangerous thing, and it got me thinking. Does Superman have a great sense of humor?

Superman's sense of humor greatly circles around the idea of putting people in their place. It might be making Lois look silly for thinking Clark is Superman, or it might be the subtle revenges he gets on Steve Lombard, but Superman does get a kick out of f-ing with people. It's the whole "wink at the reader/viewer" bit.
