Man is convinced he is inside a video game

I don't believe it. Hypnosis can't do any more than put you in a relaxed state, and even then you can break it simply by questioning the instructions you're being given. The guy was acting.

I've seen people do pretty wacky things during hypnosis  What's so different about convincing a guy a video game is real?

I've tried hypnosis a few times and it never did anything except bore me senseless. Anybody who honestly believes that someone else can control them like that will obviously assume its worked and do what they're told, but it has never had any effect on myself, my mother or anyone I know personally. The guy was more than likely playing along so as not to show up the 'hypnotist'

He was clearly scared out of his mind

I've been to hypnotist shows. I've watched many on tv, and seeing what Derren Brown can do and having him explain how he does it and stuff... hypnotism isn't about mind control, it's about suggestion. Some people are more open to it than others. Maybe it hasn't worked on anyone you know because they really, really don't want to be hypnotised.

Actually, I did want to be hypnotised, but like conspiricy theories, neo-nazis and Parist Hilton it seemed like so much made up bull**** that I couldn't take is seriously. Like trying to talk with a born-again wiccan. As it is, I stopped taking drugs on my own, without the aid of hypnotherapy, and did it a lot faster than the people that kept going back to that quack time after time.

Some people are definately more open to suggestion though, I'll give you that. Just look at fashion.

Maybe he was just a crap hypnotist.

Though there are some things that Derren Brown does that wouldn't work on everybody. Like the bank robbery thing. He picked out very specific types of people for that. He even made sure almost from the very start these people would have the inclination to steal from a shop just because he told them too. That wouldn't work on alot of people.

If I were ever in a video game, it would be Leisure Suit Larry

I guess these people also think John Edwards, Miss Cleo, Dorothy Stokes, Derek Acorah, Uri Gellar can do what they claim they can do as well, and alien autopsies are real too.
