Whenever I see the name Karen Black, I know I'm gonna be in for some great acting, and great entertainment .

The Strange Possession Of Mrs. Oliver , doesn't disappoint.

As usual, Karen Black pulls off a great performance ,and has the uncanny ability to shift with effort and ease from the studious and reserved Mrs. Oliver to the extroverted and charismatic Sandy ,

Karen Black, who appeared in Major Motion Pictures such as Five Easy Pieces, and Horror Telefilms such as The Terror Trilogy and Burnt Offerings, is joined here by George Hamilton who plays Mr. Oliver, Mrs. Oliver's domineering husband .

This is another one of those telefilms I don't want to spoil ,for anyone interested in checking it out .

Unfortunately though, as has been the case with alot of these tv movies, the copy available online isn't great , and not all tv movies and miniseries were preserved or have been restored to today's standards.

But , if you can solider through the less than ideal quality , I'd recommend it .

I would certainly recommend checking Karen Black's other work from 1970s .

Airing on February 28th, 1977 , in the top songs was a hit by Steve Miller Band.

THE REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD ( 1975)

Taking a detour from my journey through Horror Telefilms of the 1970s, my next stop was 1970s Horror Cinema in a film I'd never heard of The Reincarnation Of Peter Proud.

The RT score on this film is in the 30s, but I thought it was fantastic .

I'm gonna sound like a broken record with my previous posts, but this is yet another one of those films I don't want to spoil .

I will say the film is a slower burn, but that it does start to pay off and go in interesting directions.

Michael Sarrazin , an actor I'd never heard of before , leads this supernatural , mystery , and I thought he was really good and reminded me of a mixture of a young Peter Fonda and Warren Beatty .

The film also stars Margot Kidder, a few years before she became known to the world , and to genxers as Lois Lane, in Superman : The Movie.

She gives a stellar performance and is captivating as she always.

She'll always be Lois Lane to me ❤️

Jennifer O'Neill and Cornelia Sharpe also give good performances in the supporting roles.

So, I definitely recommend it .

The film was released in New York On April 25th 1975 .

In the top ten charts that week ,was a catchy grove, by Elton John .

THE MIDNIGHT HOUR ( 1985)

Though my recent Horror Telefilm Journey has been steeped in the 1970s , as with Deadly Messages, I've taken a detour to 1985 with this campy, horror, comedy telefilm The Midnight Hour , which I'd only heard of recently.

A telefilm with shades of Back To The Future, Fright Night, and Thriller, this is more along the lines of Goosebumps than Tales From The Darkside , and it's certainly filled with alot of 1980s cheese.

That being said , once the monsters come out to play, the film takes off and features a varied soundtrack, featuring songs from the 1950s through the 1980s .

For me , though the standout in this film, is another actress I'd never seen before , the striking
Jonna Lee ,who plays the spirit of a 1950s cheerleader, named Sandy.

When she appears she brings a whole new element to film , and my favorite parts of the whole horror film, were just Jonna Lee's Sandy, and Lee Montgomery's Phil , being together .

If anything, I think the whole film should have just been about those two star-crossed lovers ,who are perfect for each other , but due to time and space, can't be .

The film features an interesting of actors such as Levar Burton, Dick Van Patton, Kevin McCarthy, and Sheri Belafonte.

Airing November 1st, 1985 , in the top ten was a signature song by Starship.

Rocky Horror Picture Show with a full audience to react and sing along if you ever have the chance to watch it this way I HIGHLY recommend it, I have done it at least 3 times in the last 5 or so years SO fun.
