A sense of priorities is always helpful in life. As is a sense of passion.

The two miraculously came together for one Kansas man and, miraculously, he survived to tell the tale.

As ABC15 reports, the man's Olathe, Kan., home was on fire.

He woke up during the night to discover this phenomenon. He made it outside before the fire engulfed him.

However, what engulfed him shortly afterward was a burning desire not to be parted from his Xbox.

So, as if it were a scene from one of his favorite games, he rushed back inside to rescue his system.

He found it and rushed back out of the house again.

The police say that he suffered only smoke inhalation. Some might say that he suffered from a lot more than that.

It's unclear from reports what kind of Xbox this was. However, one assumes it must have been a relatively new Xbox One.

Surely no one would re-enter their burning house to retrieve some gaming relic.

There again, we already have recent video evidence that gamers can be very particular human beings indeed.

Last week a kid died saving 8 from a fire, and this moron lives saving a Xbox. F you world...... F you.

Gamers have priorities (mental). :o

I'm surprised he didnt just stay in the house and play

Not sure I see your point. Would you rather he have died? Eh, who cares. If the idiot wants to risk his life to save his game console, then let him as long as he isn't harming anyone else. I don't see how this makes him a bad person. Just a stupid one. :o

I would of rather he of burnt his ass on the way out. :D I never said I wanted him to die. Just sad how polarizing peoples priorities can be.

I get where you're coming from... Fate, luck, chance, whatever you want to call it. Is truly blind and it's bloody unfair.

It is a poor sense of priorities, that's for sure. Family photo album or a computer with them on it? I can see that. A pet as well. A replaceable machine that maybe he's had 2 months? Not so much.

Maybe it worked out in this case, but every time a person decides to rush into a burning building to save something--an object or a person--they create another potential task for the emergency responders, which could mean the time they spend saving you could have been spent on saving somebody else who didn't make it out the first time.

My God ! Think about the game backup ! You have no heart.

Isn't that what the cloud is for?

You mean the X-Box one doesn't have a built in fire extinguisher!? I was told it had everything! :o

I wouldn't save our PS3, but the external HARD DRIVE with PS3 games/saves/trophies...yes. And it's smaller :o. But first my cats, then that. Sadly, most of my ****/our **** isn't backed up or updated on any site

I'm surprised it wasn't the Xbox that started the fire.

Yeah at first I'm like "How stupid." and then I'm like "****, all my saved games."

See now if he had a Nintendo, he could just have let the house burn down, and then resume playing.

If he had a Wii U he probably would throw it directly into the fire before he ran out.

Teelie you forgot the "ba-dum-dish" emoticon for that groaner. :o
