Manips competition 3

i agree,i hate reading fan fics,i get bored really fast when reading lol

I'll admit that there are many fan-fictions out there that are boring, but I love writing fan fiction, and hope that mine aren't boring...just like manips, many fan fictions can be full of errors, can reflect poor abilities, and can be redundant and boring...I guess it's a matter of taste.

I second that notion of a writing competition. Some of us have no skill in digital art and as we all know writing is just as much of an equal skill as designing a character's look.

Maybe the writing comp could include finished and incomplete stories. Perhaps maybe we could work out some rules so everybody is welcomed and can participate :D. :bats eyes innocently:

We could even get beta's involved and stuff...hmm.

Yeah well,
I hope everyone will like my stories enough lol :D
Cause mine are WAY different than the normal books and storielines :)

I don't know what to think lol :D

If there would be a competition there should be rules about what everyone has to write a certain part like: Discibe how your scene when Jean coming back as Phoenix.

but it will take too long to read all of them

What do you preffer for the first competition? a X4 scene, or a new X3 one?

not if people don't make it to long.
Just one scene.... that wouldn't be a problem to be honest.
As long as the rules say that people can not make it to long lets say 1000 words

Not something like that.

More like:

Make a Rogue scene where she gets her new powers of flying and super strength

Yes, something like that. Or maybe more freedom?... "A new X4 scene"?... no, we could do more than one X4 competition. Yes, something like that is good. Other could be "Gambit first appearence"

No, I'd prefer, we'd start out with one simple scene, like an event that happened in X3 we didn't see onscreen...like how Angel got to SanFransico, and that there be a length limit, that a work littered with grammatical errors not be accepted, until viewed and edited by a beta...and so on.

OMG What the hell is that post????
I get confused or I see the same things that I am losing my mind.

Could you please edit that cause I have no clue about what is says

Yeah I understand the Rogue scene of mine was just an example that you should dicribe something like that.

But I agree with ya :)
Start out simple

Maybe there could be a choice in the script one can enter. Or a topic. Like the first competition could include: revisions of specific scenes or X4. Cause there are a ton of those out there.

Or maybe even character revisions...

Guys, that post was a mistake. I was seeing the possible lenght of the scene. I edited it minutes ago, hehe.

I think a good limit could be 50 lines.

So maybe the first competition should be that writers are free to write a scene or whatnot, about whatever they want, but it needs to follow a certain length rule?

why are we talking about this in the manips competition lol

What about if it was separated into catagories like

Full Story Rewrites of X3 (and or Incomplete)
Complete X4 (or Incomplete)

Then we could have Scenes and Catagories
Love/Couple Scenes (keep it pg-13): a shipper's paradise
Platonic Scenes
Actions Scenes: Revisions of the Final Battle, Danger Room...
Character Scenes: Lake Rising, Better Origins or Origins for certain characters
Introduction of new characters...

Now that I'm thinking about it...lets include things from all three movies.

I think the first competition should be something more free, maybe that, a new X3 scene, or a X4 scene, something free, and who wins, decides the next one, something more specific, like those ideas: Rogue get her powers back, Angel back to San Francisco, Gambit first appearence in X4...

What do you think?

See that's the thing, we're going to be seeing the same thing over and over and over again. Kinda like what's been going on.

If we gave people different options maybe we'd get some variety of topics.

i dont think its a good idea, like goddess said,we will be seeing the same stuffover and over and it really isnt a competition without a topic ya know?

Hey, I just thought of an idea! What if we did something totally new for the competition.

How's this for a topic: Introducing the "Realistic X-Men" to the Marvel Universe!

Let's see people like: S.H.E.I.L.D, Captain America, Spiderman, Blade...interact with the movie-verse X-Men.

(to batboy lol)^That's when we have to get our creativity on the works ;) Not like some baboons such as Zak Penn *ahem*

It's like the manips competitions.

The previous were:

1º X4 poster
2º X4 Battle scene
3º Something involving Ages of Apocalypse

With the writing competitions should be the same, in my opinion.

For example:

1º X3 scene
2º X4 scene (free?)
3º X4 Action scene/ or dramatic scene (or whatever the winner preffers)

etc, etc.
