i think sonic is cooler in a way cause he has more abilities and sonic can fall from high places and not get hurt. but mario can last underwater longer though which is cooler i guess.

Agreed. Playing a 3D Sonic game is a very unsettling, kind of "WTF"-type experience. But I love both of them. It's like asking me to choose between Batman and Superman. I love them both.

But at least the main Mario titles are still fun (Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine) and some of the sports titles are fun too (Mario Tennis and Mario Kart: Double Dash). But yeah, the Mario Party titles have gotten extremely repetitive.

Sonic has totally sucked ass ever since he went 3D, plus he's gone multiplatform appearing on all three systems while Mario still remains exclusively on Nintendo systems as Nintendo's mascot.

Sonic anyday....since the megadrive/genesis he has always been better,mario games were soooo samey and dull with the exception of yoshi's island which was great.

in 3d yes mario 64 was great...but none of the others have lived up to it...and i prefer the sonic games to ther others too.

plus mario has been ****ed out soooo much more than sonic..thers a mario everything...

Plus i think sonics story is better as too his supporting cast.

Sonic the hedgehog best by far.

(but yoshi's island is still one of the best platformers to date as well tho)

Sonic's 2D games from the Genesis days are more fun than Mario's, I'll give you that. But afterwards, not so much.

Super Mario Sunshine could have been as great as Super Mario 64 if it weren't for that crappy camera it had. Super Mario Galaxy looks great.

Asides from the Mario Party series, Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, and Mario Strikers are still provide entertainment. His spin-offs such as Luigi's Mansion, Wario World, Yoshi's Story, and Paper Mario are fun.

Sonic has now gone multiplatform unlike Mario. Sonic's comparable games Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Riders, and the spin-off Shadow the Hedgehog sucked. In Shadow they even used GUNS, freaking guns to make him look "hip"

Plus i think sonics story is better as too his supporting cast.

Asides from Tails and Knuckles, Sonic's supporting cast blows

I think that we can agree to this: Genesis Sonic > Mario > Modern Sonic. But look on the bright side, while Sonic may be piddling on the carpet like a pet you've had for 15 years, at least his ass isn't hemorraging like Crash's and Spyro's are.

(but yoshi's island is still one of the best platformers to date as well tho)

Asides from that annoying cry that Baby Mario gave off, it was fun.
