Marsden Interview in NY Post

Um, it doesn't matter what we think, or what crappy excuses Zak gave us X-fans to "give us what we want on a technicality". As far as the REST of the world is concerned, Logan did steal Scott's girl. Sure, she never said it, but nobody was rooting for Scott/Jean that I know of (the non-comic readers, that is).

I'm a not-yet-comic-reader.

You're special ;)

Fine, lemme rephrase - people who are not familiar with X-men, which may or may not include comic readers.

I still felt sorry for him when he got dumped in "The Notebook." :(

Generally, the audience is aware of and likes the Jean/Logan thing and not so much the Jean/Scott thing so...

It's just marketing. Wolverine's a more popular character so studio executives wanted to place him front and center. It was true for all 3 movies. That means in the end getting the girl. The writers left it ambiguous because they worried they might get a real backlash if they didn't. Who knows in 20 years, when they make the next set of XMen movies, Cyke will be popular again?

A guy seeing a woman, trying to get her, trying to destroy a good relationship, ... a true hero.

It could have been worse, Jean could have gone with Logan and then it be revealed that Scott was in fact her brother all along.

but seriously, just because the general audience may think that Logan got the girl doesn't mean they are right. The general audience are idiots and take movies passively. The thought of Jean staying with the good guy and not the bad boy just doesn't register. Hollywood is a fantasy.

and in the comics and movies it's pretty obvious that Jean still cares for Logan. He is her friend even if she doesn't love him.

First he loses the girl—namely Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey—to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the X-Men films (she breaks his heart—and more of him).

WTF B))SH#$# gorram frackin Grrrr!!!

Great - just perpetuate the myth!

I honestly don't think the movie even shows this, even though it sure as heck tried to at times.

I'm surprised noone has pointed out that this is from an X3 interview, and Famke Janssen was his interview partner. In fact, she makes fun of his "impeccable taste" comment. Guess they just culled the Superman quotes.

What some don't realize is that if there's nothing more than passion in a relationship, once the passion is gone, there'll be nothing left of the relationship. If there's love and trust, a lot of work involved, a lot of talking done and caring, then even after the initial passion is gone, there'll be something left, that can hold forever.

I KNEW I remembered reading this before...

Hey, you're forget something... she did tell Logan that she loved Scott in X2...

Jean: i love him...

Logan: Do you ?

Jean: Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, Logan... but they don't take him home... they marry the good guy...

And when Logan kiss her, she backed away ( after a few seconds... I know... )...

And in X3, her feeling towards Scott appeared after her ( for me, Phoenix implanted this in her mind...) flashback, when she said ( for me believed...) that his was dead... and after that, with Xavier... her refusal to talk about it was clear...

In fact, I think that she cares deeply about Logan, but her truly love is Scott...

Too bad they haven't given Cyclops the same kind of respect in the X-Men movies that they gave Richard White in Superman Returns.

James Marsden in movies= Someone steals your girlfriend.

That´s your fault, Jim, because you works for a bad director like Bryan Singer.

yeah..i'm sure Bryan Singer is a bad director...cuz he was the director WB decided to take the reigns on "Superman" after years in production hell.....he's such a bad director that he basically rejuvenated the comic book genre (while many believe that Blade was responsible, most of the general audience didn't know that Blade was based on a comic book)...he also gave us a great comic book film in "X2"...and let's not forget that little movie he made called "The Usual Suspects"

Do you go around and tell everybody that you don't love them?
Jean: Hey Xavier, I don't love you! Magneto? Not a chance! Storm? Sorry, not interested.
Whatever.

However she did kiss Scott in front of Logan in X2 as if to say 'Nice flirting with you, but this is my guy.'
I loved Scott's endearment to Jean as she was leaving. 'Be safe'.

When you think of what eventually happened to Allie, technically Lon dodged a bullet. :)
