how'd she really die? I mean I heard first she died of a heartattack. then she got shot in a later origin. Just intresting that she did die of a heartattack when batman comics first started and now It's the ever remembered "fallin pearls" shot

your thoughts?

In the current continuity, she died because she got shot. (Y1, #0 and numerous other re-tellings)
When did she ever die of a heartattack?

she died of a heart attack when the comics first started?

from wikipedia:

The Golden Age Batman first appears in Detective Comics #27, May 1939. Batman's origin is first presented in Detective Comics #33 in November 1939, and is later fleshed out in Batman #47, the 1985 four-issue limited series America vs. the Justice Society and 1986's Secret Origins (Vol. 2) #6. As these comics state, Bruce Wayne is born in the 1910s to Dr. Thomas Wayne and his wife Martha, two very wealthy and charitable Gotham City socialites. Bruce is brought up in Wayne Manor and its wealthy splendor and leads a happy and privileged existence until the age of eight, when his parents are killed by a small-time criminal named Joe Chill on their way home from the movie theater. Bruce is subsequently raised at Wayne Manor by his uncle, Philip Wayne (introduced in Batman #208, Jan./Feb. 1969).

This is from "Tales of the Dark Knight: Batman's First Fifty Years"

Sorry for the photo's, I don't have a scanner.

I had heard she died of shock, after seeing Thomas get shot.

Obviously, it's been updated....to having her get shot. I mean, shock? wtf...

I believe Bruce mentions in when he comes face to face with Chill, as Batman, years later. He tells Chill his identity, un-masking himself, and tells him how he destroyed his life.

That's what I'm telling you, that never happened I don't know where that's from....

around the time, when Batman was lightend up somewhere in the 50's
they changed it to a heart attack, because at the time they believed it was too
gruesome for a woman to be shot, but it was later changed to her being shot agian, like the first origin.

And that's a nice little story that was posted above^
I didn't know Joe was killed by mobsters in the comics like in Begins.

Can anyone tell me in what issue this happened, I checked out some origin stories and I can't find any proof of this.

I have that story, or at least, translated into Dutch.

Batman Special #0?

Ok this is the low down in Batman number#47 printed in 1948 the story called "the origin of Batman" it states that Martha Wayne died because the sudden shock of watching her husband killed was to much for her weak heart. This is the first telling of Batmans origin.Back in the 1940's the idea of a woman being shot in a book marketed to kids was considered to violentand woman were tought to be weaker then men so the idea of her having a weak heart was put in to the story laterexpanding on the story the idea of a heart attack was added.Over the years society idea on violence has changed and views on woman like wise....to think of some youn woman dieing because of shock due to watching a loved one killed maybe considered a bit farfecth by the time the late 60's and 70's came about so his origin changed with the times.

P.S. I was lucky enough to meat Bob Kane back in the 80's and I asked him why did they have Bruce's mother die of a weak heart and not like her husband his answer was......................................................... [And I'm not looking to start anything about who realy created Batman]
When I created the back story for Batman I wrote that both his parants were shot and killed by a robber in the knight but by the time that we wrote an origin story Batman had already gone thru some change's mostly Robin being in the book and the book being marketed to kids and the idea of having a mother figure killed in such a brutal way was something the publisher did not want to do.:batty:

Ok here are to scans from Batman#47 the origin of Batman and the last one is from DC Who's Who april 1958 issue if you look at the history part you will see the heart attack mention.
