I wants some.

Marvel has covered many different areas in multimedia... live action film, animated television and DVDs, even digital comics... and yet all we've gotten in terms of live action television over the past decade was a mediocre Blade series and the God-awful Mutant X. You can do soo much better, Marvel. And now that special effects on a television budget have come so far with shows like Battlestar Galactica, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Heroes, I could certainly see many of Marvel's comics heroes making the leap from the printed page to our television screens.

I, for one, would love to see an X-Men series that begins as the comics did with Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Iceman, and Jean. Given the right creative team (*cough*Joss Whedon*cough*), it could be a helluva show.

We are at the stage where you can do a pretty great job of shows like superhero and action on TV, plus with great shows like 24, BSG, etc running you know the behind the camera talent is there. So why not?

The only type of Marvel live action tv I want to see is something that doesn't rely on powers and costumes. Perhaps something in the espionage or martial arts realm will do. A S.H.I.E.L.D. tv show would be a nice thing if they did it 24 style. Then there's also a Shang Chi or Iron Fist type show. You can do those without a ton of money spent of special effects. Blade could've been something special if they had a better Blade and direction. I really wished they would've kepe things in line with the first two movies instead of focusing on the Krista character. It's like they didn't realize that people hated Blade:Trinity for doing the exact same thing.

I think Moon Knight and Daredevil would make excellent tv shows if done right. DD could be like CSI but with superheroes and costumes. It doesn't have to have a lot of special effects.

We need Daredevil. With all the Law and Order shows on nowadays, why not?

I still think Punisher would be the best live action show on HBO. It wouldn't be too expensive and it could be violent and true to the character.

Cloak and Dagger. Romeo and Juliet with superpowers. West Side Story with Darkforce and Light.

Could be great.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Heck, even GI Joe should have been a series rather than a movie. All you need is a couple costumes, CG base for Cobra, one for the Joes. You don't even need a battle every week, some episodes can be investigating, spying. Do it in a similar vein to Stargate.

We need Daredevil.

What about a show that rotated each episode through four or five characters? Kind of like how Law and Order rotates between a Police episode and a courtroom one? The show could be Marvel Knights, and you'd have a Moon Knight episode, then a Daredevil one, then a Punisher one... and occasionally, there'd be crossovers between them.

It would work if it was one story told from different perspectives like GRRM's Song Of Fire and Ice. It's one huge story and we get a piece every week from somebody else's view of it. Then you can have them going at it in their own way. DD wants to bring in a witness, Punisher kills the guy in the next episode then DD goes after Punisher, kinda like that.

It sounds to me like a Marvel Knights show would give a lot of people what they want.

I had the idea once for a live action Hulk series on HBO or something like that which was not like the old TV show at all but more of a series that adhere's very closely to the original comics(though not a 60's period piece) and would be quasi-X Files like as far as the tone of it goes. I thought maybe just calling it Incredible would be a good title. But then I figured it would take probably another 25 years for the technology to be cheap enough and easy enough to make a weekly show out of it. I mean Hulk would have to deliver a Gollum-level quality performance(real acting, not just roars, grunts and the rare 3rd person line of dialogue) and since they don't seem to be able to do that kind of stuff even in the movies right now(or at least not without great difficulty) then it'll take even longer for that kind of SFX to filter down to TV shows.

I also thought a channel devoted to nothing but comic-book adaptions and superheroes would be a nice thing to see(original movies & TV shows as well as showings of theatrical releases and old shows). Call it the Comic Book Channel or something like that. Maybe Marvel and DC can split the costs on it. Yeah, right.:cwink:

Agreed, a law and order style Daredevil show would be amazing. Also, an X-files type show featuring a team of Shield Agents going after super-powered baddies each week seems like it could work quite well, perhaps with cameos from well known villains and/or heroes.

I dig the Marvel Knights idea. Throw in Cloak and Dagger, Luke Cage, Black Widow and Shang-Chi. A few cross-overs wouldn't hurt. Kind of like Smallville and the JLA.

I like it.

^It could be like THE WIRE with superheroes!

Yes MK would indeed be sweet.............

We need a few more years for this to be done right.

When quality CGI becomes a little bit cheaper.

I would def. like to see it tho.

A completely rebooted Punisher television series on HBO or Showtime would amazing with the right creative team.

I think a Daredevil series that guest stared characters like Punisher or Moonknight would be perfect. Wouldn't it make sense that they would run into one another or ol' Hornhead would have to defend one in the court room or invsetigate a hero that was wrongly accused. I don't see another Punisher film happening, so this would be a perfect venue to have him make appearances. Heck, throw in whatever characters that aren't locked up by studios and would make sense in that world. Power Man and Iron Fist maybe? As for villians, I mean how could you do better for TV than Kingpin or Tombstone? Maybe we could even see some Elektra and Bull's eye .

There is just a LOT of potential in a DD series.

after the movies are done, i'd like to see a live-action show based on ultimate spiderman.

I've always thought that the Spidey universe would make for a brilliant weekly, prime-time series. I like teenage Pete and gang, but the "Spectacular" cartoon is handling that pretty well. There's a short story by Peter David, included in a Spider-man anthology, called "5 Minutes". It takes place on Pete and MJ's one year anniversary and deals with the challenges they face. I thought this would be a perfect pilot for such a series.

I think an X-Men live action series could easily be adapted to the teen drama genre. Focusing less on battling supervillains, and more on social issues, both relating to adolescence and mutanthood (which are ripe to be spun into social metaphors) and you could have quite an interesting setup. Somehow, convince Joss Whedon to write and you're all set for a cool, intelligent series. Alternatively, go with Josh Schwartz and you'd get vapid, pop culture gold that attracts the girls.

I could see a SHIELD series.
I'm there for Marvel Knights.
I'm there for Ultimate Spider-Man
And I'm definitely there for an X-Men series (Xavier's Institute for Gifted Younsters, or XIGY "Ziggy" for short)

I love the Law and Order Marvel Knights thing, though you really can't rotate more than three heroes and keep interest from week to week for someone with a different fave character. MK, DD and Punny are perfect, throw in arcs that accommodate Luke Cage, Cloak and Dagger, Black Widow and Shang Chi. End each half-season with a crossover of at least two of the main three. Good times.

Ultimate Spider-Man is BORN to be a series. It might need two years before swinging through the city is cheap enough for a tv budget, but cutting down on the superhero time and upping the Peter drama time is exactly what Ultimate is about, and it does it so well. Main cast of Peter, MJ, Harry, Flash, Gwen, Liz, Kong, Aunt May, Cpt Stacy, Hobie Brown and Eddie Brock Jr. Use a big name actor as the villains for 4-6 episode arcs.

X-Men: First Class is also born to be a teen drama. You already have all the kids, with wildly different personas and backgrounds, with more on the way. You have a school setting. You have unique angst and a chance to throw in danger of various types. It's pretty gosh-darn perfect.
