Actually currently trying to work my way up so that I can propose a live action Spider-Man series that is much more Classic and Ultimate than the films. Peter Parker is a Freshman in High School when he's bitten by the radioactive spider. To me that's always been interesting. Having to go through high school and being a teenager while at the same time saving the world. Only part I feel could have made the movies better was setting it in the high school years like Stan Lee did. The story I'm really hoping to tell is Spider-Man becoming the hero, the life and death of Gwen Stacy and the rise of the Green Goblin. Tone can only be described as HEROES meets SMALLVILLE.
Also, similar to SMALLVILLE, if I am lucky enough to get this opportunity be on the look out for possible heroic cameos. Especially Daredevil, he'd be used to the same extent the Green Arrow was in SV.
And as for villains, we have A LOT of good ones. Swarm. Big Man. Basilisk. Light Master. Etc. Yeah, I know I'm naming villains that aren't really that well known. But, that's the fantastic part about a television series you can finally bring this B and C, even D list of Spider-Man villains to the screen. And they fit very well. A movie may be too long to be crafted around them, but they can definitely handle an episode or episode arc.
As for one liners? That's definitely in. I understand it. Have the same exact "defense mechanism." Of using humor to refract otherwise scary or odd situations.
Spider-Man's the hero most suited for television. Kind of like the legacy of Superman. It's easily adaptable to all formats.
Had a couple of episodes up here for a while over on the fan fiction thread as either Tempest19 or Triligors. Don't know if they're still up, think I took them all down to keep the series points under wraps. But, remember good fan reaction from it.
