It's that time of the month; IGN has previews of the new Dark Reign-related titles:

- An Incredible Herc tie-in arc begins.
- New issues of Iron Man and War Machine.
- Three new mini-series relating to the events: the previously-announced New Avengers: The Reunion by McCann and Lopez; a five-part Fantastic Four mini by Jonathan Hickman and Sean Chen; and a five-part Elektra mini by Zeb Wells and Clay Mann (his DD fill-in was fantastic, so he'll suit the tone, no doubt).
- Magic-centric covers for New and Dark Avengers; though Morgan looks a little addled.

Wait, so Hank Pym is actually LEADING the Mighty Avengers now?

Finally, some Respect! :word:

Amen, brother. Can't wait to see where Slott takes Hank.

As for the previews:

Hmm, that Invincible Iron Man cover looks a bit lame. I hope Rhodey's not gonna be some government tool just because he's an ex-marine. I like the red holo-displays, though. Much cooler than the green ones we saw in Avengers: The Initiative.

Celestials, Eternals, and Doombots in Dark Reign: FF? Hmm, I may have to look into that.

Elektra's back! With shotguns! Uh... yay? Man, the Marvel universe sure missed her presence, huh? Um... yeah. At least she looks somewhat Greek on that cover. That's better than what 99% of the artists out there can do with her.

Hey, check it out, Dr. Strange is gonna be butchered some more in New Avengers. And he's bringing a bunch of magic-types with him--except for the gods. Again. And the Scarlet Witch, who's not supposed to be magical at all anymore, is there. Thanks, Marvel.

Dark Avengers: Let me guess, Morgana's doing the jilted ex thing with Dr. Doom, since Bendis thought it perfectly reasonable that Doom would tamper with the very underpinnings of reality by frequently going back in time to f*** her. I'm so glad I'm not going to read this series.

Ok I love Dr.Strange.But i be damned if I'll read a bendis written Avengers. So what's this talk of him not being sorceror Supreme?!What has Bendis done with him after Brain K. Vaughn left him in such great shape?

Eh, whatever Bendis is doing with Strange, if it leads to a magic event where Strange has to reclaim his Sorcerer Supreme position, I'm cool with it. I'm sure whatever writer handles the event itself can make better sense in recaps of whatever Bendis is doing with Strange than Bendis will now.

I can only hope.In my opinion Bendis has no business writing Strange. He doesn't have that range.Hell I don't read it but from what i saw he basically turned the avengers into a street level book.which just sucks.

Well, the New Avengers. The Mighty Avengers seemed to have some big adventures.

Dispite how it does occassionally annoy me, I really do enjoy New Avengers. I want to keep buying that and Dark Avengers, but I just can't justify the $4 price tag. So I either drop them or drom something else that I don't care as much for. And remember that Stature and Vision are in Mighty Avengers, I think I may stick with that one. I was going to drop it just to drop the whole Avengers thing (plus the art isn't really appealing to me) but I'll give it a shot.

I don't know. I'm still confused on what I'm going to be doing in the next few months.

Is Dark Avengers a new ongoing or mini?

X-Men previews at CBR

- Dracula in Captain Britain and MI-13? Oh. Snap. :wow:

- War Machine's an X-title now?

- Old-school Daredevil, Elektra, Wolverine, Kitty Pryde, and the Hand crossover in Wolverine: First Class. By Peter David, no less. I can't believe I considered dropping this.

- Valentine De Landro is drawing and X-Factor is going to have a big brawl with Sentinels. This might be what the title needs to be exciting again... or it might just be another fight with Sentinels in an X-title. We'll see.

- Haha, "variant cover by Rob Liefeld." I don't know why that's still funny to me, but it is.

- Yay, more X-Men: First Class. And Colleen Coover contributes something that will inevitably be adorable and hilarious. These all-ages titles are so much more satisfying than the bleak 'mature' comics.

- Not too interested in Rogue, but I'm curious to see where Legacy goes. Xavier and Gambit'll still be there, so that's something.

- I don't know what the point of Quitting Time is, since Nightcrawler never really leaves the X-Men for long, but I like that they're dealing with some sensible issues. What does a character do when they're made totally redundant by someone who has the same power they do, but a hundred times better? I'll probably pick that up unless it's penciled by someone s***ty.

- I'm sure I won't read that Psylocke one-shot, but what line could Betsy cross that no X-Man ever has before? The X-Men have done pretty much everything on both sides of the moral divide.

Yeah, Cable and X-Force get a crossover... with variant covers by Rob Liefeld! It's like Christmas came early but got trapped in the '90s along the way. :)

Technically it's like Christmas came...more or less on time. :oldrazz:

I was going to, but as usual, they arent drawing him the way he is supposed to look, so screw it. ( i want a wolfman, with torn green pants. ' nuff said)

According to the cover of issue #3, he looks closer to his original look, and he's wearing PANTS!!! :word:

:yay:

Pants that look like they're soon gonig to come off. Someone needs to explain the concept of belts to Mr. Russell.

Daredevil looks to be heating up a great deal, the current LB arc spilling into Return of the King should be awesome.

Cap looks to be quality as always.

Thor is getting the 3.99 price tag!Boo.

GNR's talking about the previews listed here, for the non-mind-reading crowd.

Also, Marvel's got the Spider-Man solicitations up here.

For me so far:

Captain America
Captain Britain and MI13
Daredevil
Fantastic Four
Incognito
Uncanny X-Men
X-Force

I'm not one to get overly hysterical about price increases, but I'll probably go to trade-waiting for Thor on that now; I'd been leaning that way increasingly between the slow release and JMS' really slow writing.

Amusingly, ICON's creator-owned titles now cost less than many standard Marvel works.

Maybe Betsy gets pregnant.:woot: I don't think any X-Woman has done that before.

As for Nightcrawler being outclassed, I can't understand how Pixie can teleport faster than he does. All he has to do is think in order to teleport. She has to recite her little spell.

Siryn's still pregnant, yeah? With Madrox's spawn? Whatever happened with that?

She went into labor in the last issue, I think.

But he's also limited by line of sight and often has to make several jumps to get as far as she can go in just one.
