He has already showed up again in Nova, which takes place right after AXIS. In fact he's only after Nova because they both survived AXIS. And no, he's not a hero still.

Incidentally, has Kingsley popped up since Axis? I read the Hobgoblin mini-series, but not the actual Axis event...
