I'm going with the Negative Zone. So much awesome stuff: Blastaar, Annihilus, 42, the real Dusk, all the crazy places Rick Jones went while bonded to (and neglected by) crazy Genis, etc. It's very much a vibrant, lively universe of its own.

The Phantom Zone is, well, not. A lot of people use it for different things, but it's effectively just a big empty space.

you guys are getting into the geography of the place.I'm talking about the moral implications. The Phantom zone is the Ultimate form of Capital Punishment. you are not dead but you are not truly alive either. That 's some cruel and inhuman punishment.I would rather to be deposed of than dealing with that &^%$!That's why everybody who goes there comes out all jacked up.It's like a walk in the park for the FF in the NZ now. What criminal ever loves being imprisoned? Of course he's going to hate it. That place is the s***! I doubt that he'd vote Negative Zone seeing that he's a hardcore Kryptonian and would love nothing more than use it to his advantage for those who cross him.

So I'm pretty sure that Zod can attest to how messed up a place like that is firsthand...

It's not jacked up, though. The process by which Kryptonians send people there results in their becoming immaterial and ghostlike. Sucks for a visceral guy like Zod, but otherwise all you'd have to deal with is crushing boredom because it's empty. I'd much rather go to the Phantom Zone than the Negative Zone if I had to choose my prison, personally.

Well, it's a storage place for alot of vile & psychotic villians which makes it Alcatraz x 100.

Now come on MD. Mon-el spent time in there when he got lead poisoning and there wasnt any cure. He was Like "i dont ever want to go back to that place again." Every Kyptonian Bad guy is there and if we count JLU Doomsday is in there. It's like the Super Villain Guantanamo-Bay. the FF are like "hey lets go on an adventure lets go to the NZ today!" Haven't their kids even been there??If you did something really bad there aint no appeals ,no plea barging. your ass is going to the PZ!!

I've read comics in which there where areas in which one could solidify; most recent case that I recall is where Mon-El helps Superman to escape the Zone...only to have his lead poisoning disease come out of remission , if only, temporarily.


There was another Superman story that I read where it was done also but it's been years so I'd have to dig it up out of my stash at home...
