I'm looking at marvel's web site and thinking "WoW" Marvel have changed somethings around here. I didn't know they had the digital comic book thing up and running. And you can watch episodes of Xmen:Evol and FF! Marvel is really trying to step up their internet savy(ness-ish).Has anyone subscribed to the digital comics and if you so how do you like?:huh:

I hear they have 5k comics online. That's awesome for reading comics while at work. I wonder if you need to download some kind of program inorder to view the comics?

Their site is excellent. i even enjoy playing the Iron Man and Hulk games in the kids sections. Great stuff. :stark :hulk:
 
Ok... give me the pros & cons...

Cons:
Sometimes the dialog gets cut off if it's in the very bottom margin. This might be a problem with just my laptop.

Not downloadable.

Pros:
Their smart panels are wonderful. I think they need a little work, but it's the best way to read comics on a computer, by far.

A lot of comics. Not everything that you would want, but A LOT.

They're experimenting with On-line only comics. There's an Iron Man one. I only skimmed it but it looked decent. It uses the movie IM, which I think is a very smart move.

The best for last: the price. I easily spend $30-40 a week on comics, so their one year sub price ($60 I think) is so worth it, it blows my mind.

I plan on maybe making a thread about it, and maybe get some recommendations for a reading list.
 
If you're new to comics, or haven't read a lot of the older ones, I think you'll love it. There's so much content on there, and they're adding to it every day.
 
I refuse to subcribe to those books.
Thor's complete run was SUPPOSED to come out on rom. Like a month before, Marvel didn't renew the contract to the company. INSTEAD they start the Dotcomics crud where you don't KEEP the comic. If I'm going to pay money for a book I intend to keep it.
 
Don't be too angry, Vartha. It's a business, and they have a good product. I know people are used to getting stuff like this cheap (I have most of those DVDs, they were an awesome deal) or even free. But this gives Marvel a unique way to get content into the hands of new readers. If they're ever listening, I think it would be a great move for them to offer a free online sub if you subscribe to, say, 5 real titles.

Meh. I can get computer comics for free from a billion different places. Why in God's name would I pay them money for an inferior version of their product? I'll pay money for the real thing. If I want pale imitations to read on the fly, I'll just snatch it for free. I earned it when I paid them money for the real thing.
