I was wonder what people's opinions were on the worst events in Marvel history.... It doesn't have to be a company wide crossover, but it shouldn't be a single issue bad story. I'm going to get it started with my list.

Heroes Reborn....
Maximum Clonage
Bringing Norman Osborn and Aunt May back from the dead.
Gwen Stacy Having Osborn's kids.
Iron Man turned to villain and replaced by Younger "Hipper" version of himself.
Avengers Dissembled (especially turning She-Hulk into the a female savage Hulk. The Hulk was a product of Banner's MPD, something Jen doesn't have.)

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that come to mind.

So what you really mean by mistakes, are bad stories.

1. They shouldn't even have introduced the concept of "Totem Spidey".

Where to start...

Using Norman Osborn as a Deus Ex Machina
Avengers Dissembled
New Avengers
House of M
Sins Past
The Other
Iron Spidey
Turning Spidey into a wimp
Turning Iron Man into a villian
Mischaracterisation during Civil War

I would say one of Marvel's biggest mistakes would be allowing the "Big 7" Image creators to leave their company and start their own. The helped create another competitive company.

- Hero's Reborn
- House of M
- Spiderman Clone thingy
- Killing off Jean Grey multiple times
- Hiring Austin to write X-Men
- Allowing Morrison to introduce Cass Nova

and my number 1: Putting Wolverine on the Avengers squad...ugh

Amping Wolverine's healing factor up to Lobo levels.

Spider-Man willingly unmasking on live television in front of the whole world.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider-Man and all the other stupid bull**** they make for little kids. I love Marve's comics but they have no shame when it comes to marketing.

The Other
Every Pheonix story since the Dark Pheonix Saga
Hiring JMS and Milligan
House of M
Decimation
Sentinal O.N.E.
The 198

Jean Grey should have died and stayed dead the first time they killed her. It would have enhanced the importance of the Phoenix saga. Now it's an in-joke that Jean dies and is ressurected all the time.

Marvel Vs. DC and the horrible follow up: Amalgam. :down

Xtreme Xmen...
Spiderman revealing himself to the public...
Wolverine.:whatever:

Making Tony Stark the most hated character in the Marvel U.
having other people wear the armor and call themselves Iron Man
Spider-Man unmasking
Avengers Disassembled
New Avengers roster, Wolverine? come'on thats just a marketing ploy
Joe Quesada
the writers of New Avengers and Civil War

Future mistakes according to rumors:

Stark not wearing the armor and being the SHIELD director, or them killing him off.
Some other jacka$$ wearing the armor and calling himself IronMan.
Joe Quesada still working at Marvel.

Ah Xorn...Xorneto...whatever. Just bad bad juju.
Agree on Wolvie on the Avengers roster - just not right.
