Mass Effect 2

It should be illegal for them to make us wait for Mass Effect 3 after the way that one ended. Im ready for Mass Effect 3, like right now. Awesome effing ending, really epic.

I hope most of the crew is able to join in the next game tho. I at least want Thane, Garrus, Grunt, Legion, Tali and Jacob back. There shouldnt be much of a delay in time between when the 2nd game ends and the 3rd game begins, so there shouldnt be a need to create a whole new squad the way u did in this game.

Alright, I need some help, specifically about the end of the game.

I saved my game on a different save before the suicide mission. I played through it and lost Tali. Now I'm try to go back to that save and get everyone to survive. When I did I sent Legion instead of Tali and he died. Any suggestions on how to get through the hacking parts without someone dying or do I have to blow the doors open?

I feel exactly the same way. I want the ME2 crew back. Anyone from ME1 can kiss my ass, THE DESERTING BASTARDS THAT THEY ARE!

Where do ya get new armour/helmets?? I'm well into the game now, got 2 team members left to recruit, but i'm still in my N7 armour.

There are only 4 pieces of any armor category included in the game. For example there is only 2 other pieces of headgear that you can buy.

Here is a complete a list of what is available until they decide to release some more in DLC.

Shoulders:
N7 Shoulder Guards - Increases weapon damage by 3%
Amplifier Plates [Illium] - Increases power damage by 5%
Strength Boost Pads [Omega] - Increases melee damage by 25%
Asymmetric Defense Layer [Tuchanka] - Increases health by 5%

Arms:
N7 Guantlets - Increases health by 3%
Heavy Damping Guantlets [Tuchanka] - Increases shields by 5%
Off-Hand Ammo Pack [Citadel] - Increase spare ammo capacity by 10%

Im hoping for some more customizable armor soon. I love it.

I chose Samara to lead the first fire team and I did have her full loyalty. I'm thinking that maybe if I choose Garrus to lead the fire team the person in the vents might survive. I have to full loyalty of everyone if that helps.

For ME3 I hope that the crew from ME2 stays, I like all of the characters they introduced and this one and it will be cool to see Shepard not having to work for any certain faction and calling his own shots with his squad. I also hope that the romantic sub-plot carries over into the next one. Could you do that in ME2 with Ashley or Liara? I didn't try because Miranda and Jack were more interesting.

I just finished the game. My final playtime was 32:01.

I lost Grunt. Mordin died too. Which is totally lame because as far as I can tell I had no control over that. I sent Legion through the vents. Jacob was my fire team leader. I saved the Normandy crew. Jack was my Biotic shield. I chose Grunt for the second team leader and Zaeed for escort. My team was Garrus and Samara. I destroyed the facility.

All in all it was a fantasic game, although I found the story to be disappointing. I mean...

...you spend like 90% of the game just recruiting dudes.

Which is fine, because this game has maybe the best characterization of any game ever. But the actual story was way too short for my liking.

You lost Grunt because he makes a bad fire team leader. He's a fighter. I believe Garrus/Jacob/Miranda are the best choices.

Hmm...that makes sense. I was overthinking it.

The game said specifically that the second team was a "distraction team" or something like that and I figured a Krogan would be a great distraction. :D Mission accomplished I guess as everyone else survived. Except Mordin, which is still a mystery.

Speaking of mysteries, why was the star behind the Illusive Man blue at the end of the game?

Yea i kinda felt the same way. I mean i loved the process of recruiting all of these uniquely different characters and learning about their back story and history, but it seemed that once you finally got your team together, the final mission wasnt as epic as id expected, but then again, things are only about to get much harder. I mean the collectors were nothing but pawns. The real battle has yet to begin.

Needless to say, im damn ready for Mass Effect 3.

Shepard blows the Collector base (if Miranda is there, I think Illusive Man tells her to stop you and she tells him she's resigned). Anyway once back on board you get chewed out by him for destroying it and preventing "Human Dominance". Shepard tells him to stuff it and he's going to stop the Reapers his way.

Now that I've sat on it and thought about it a while longer, I don't think I was as disappointed in the story so much as I was caught off guard by it. The first Mass Effect was so epic and there seemed like so much was at stake and I was expecting something similar in a sequel. The constant comparisons to The Empire Strikes Back didn't help much either. But Mass Effect 2 is significantly and surprisingly smaller in scope.

So I take back being disappointed. I just wish there was a little more story in there with The Collectors. Just one more story mission before you hit the Omega Relay. But in the end I guess I would rather have a more focused game that leaves me wanting more than an overly lengthy one that I want to quit playing halfway through.

So, I just finished, everyone survived the suicide mission. Romanced Garrus, apparently he's into techno when he gets down to business. Though,

Kind of messed up at the end I think. I saved the Collector's Base without really thinking about it. I thought of it as the previous Geth situation on Legion's loyalty mission. Afterward I kind of realized that's probably not going to end up in my favor in the next game (at least not on this character).

Oh well, I still finished full Paragon and only a little Renegade regardless. Got all but four achievements. Going to start my renegade run next with my horrible ***** of a woman Shepard next.

I think that particular decision is going to have a huge effect on Mass Effect 3.

a question about Harbinger

is he just a reaper or the Head Reaper??

Just about 5 hours into this game, and man...is it incredible.

It's pretty much, off the bat, fixed even the smallest of complaints. The atmosphere is much improved, too. Stepping onto Omega for the first time, and heading into Afterlife...all of it was quite an experience. Even heading into the slums of Omega, and passing by the homeless aliens...wow. It all added a depth and weight, that makes it so easy to buy into the world your occupying.

I'm not really far in the game, yet. I just recruited Archangel...which was a fantastic surprise and sequence.

I like how Joker is 10x funnier now, too. The porno sound thing was a funny bit, too. And I thought I would be annoyed by EDI for some reason, but I'm not. She's pretty helpful, and I like the K.I.T.T. simpilarities to how we see her or it talking.

And I don't know how many of you guys got the Collector's Edition, but I'm really impressed with the packaging for it. The slip case is strong and sturdy, and the steelbook case for the game is damn nice.

I love this game. 10 hours into it but I'm playing mostly as a paragon even though I'm tempted half the time to let my crew off someone during their "favor" missions. Can't wait to start playing this as a Renegade and then later on Insanity.

The only thing I'm worried about is I probably spent a good amount of time on "scanning" and I'm wondering if that's going to lose it's appeal in subsequent playthroughs.

I was wondering myself, I thought he was just a Collector until the end when Shepard refer to him as a Reaper

Yeah, it was a really nice packaging. Good deal for the price, and you can't say that much for CE's nowadays

Agreed, it's going to be a big one for sure. And I'm sure it'll go horribly wrong in some way or another

Oh yeah, totally agree. For just an extra $10, the CE is a nifty deal.

How soon do the "favor" missions start? Wanna make sure I haven't missed any.

Zaeed started right after you picked him up.

Jacob started after Horizon. I just kept talking to people and the favor missions started going up, like with Mordin and Jack.

I was told that Miranda needed to talk to me, then she asked a favor and that Grunt is upset and I had to talk to him.

You'll need to talk to your squad on the personal level first, then Kelly will tell you that 'so-and-so' wants to talk to you or is doing something that implies something around those lines. They should start around the time you get the first round of squad mates or a little before that.

For anyone interested in the Dr. Pepper DLC items, you can get them for free. You just have to follow THESE steps. I just did it and it worked.
