Shepard can actually die permanently in the game? And bite that tongue on that Molyneaux crack :cmad:

Makes sense IMHO...seems kinda silly that if you got the worst ending possible that you'd be able to import your dead Shepard into 3.

More so if you beat ME2, get the worst ending and then don't play it again in attempt to get a survive ending before ME3 comes out....in two years, lol.

Yeah, but why have that option in the first place, when it really isn't an option at all? It's an empty attempt at drama, and really beneath Bioware. It's kinda lazy, IMO.

It was an interesting proposition, if done right. "What happens in ME3 if your character died in 2?" Well, nothing, apparently.

Since keeping the Geth faction is a Paragon move, I would say that will be helpful in the end. Since the base thing is a Renegade move, I expect it to go fairly badly in the end.

I almost agree with you. I'm kinda on the fences about it because not every paragon choice you make goes right. But if it makes the game tougher, Shepard can deal with it! :woot:

And I'm glad I don't have to worry about dead Shepard.

Did anyone's Shepard die in their game anyway?

Insanity in this game is quite possibly the least amount of fun ever. I enjoy bits and pieces such as beating a certain area but most of the time I feel like I have to cheat the system to do so.

What class are you playing?

There have been a lot of complaints about the higher difficulties because they shine a light on how unbalanced the classes are and apparently make the abilities of some classes mostly useless.

I was able to do Insanity on Mass Effect 1 with an Adept. I was going to attempt Insanity on a second playthrough trying to go to Level 30.

I heard the Dead Shepard = not importing Mass Effect 3 MONTHS ago. Its not news. Simply put the death ending is there if you want it, its there for fun. They didn't need to give you the option but they did. Just don't get Shep killed which is insanely easy.

Trying to make sense of Dead Shep would be a logistics NIGHTMARE for ME3.

Oh, I'm playing a soldier. I'm lucky I'm a soldier though, probably making it a bit easier than most would have it. I just find the overall difficulty not that fun.

Really though, the reason I get most upset is when the idiot AI stand in cover positions that make no sense or they stand out of cover for too long shooting at an enemy. I've wasted so much medi-gel on them it's ridiculous.

I'll get through the difficulty but I just felt like venting a bit.

You know you can assign them positions right?

Also, if it isn't fun why don't you play on an easier difficulty?

Cerberus Armor and Eviscerator Shotgun

On Tuesday February 09 2010 Mass Effect 2 fans will be able to get the new Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun DLC fof free through the Cerberus network. It should be available for all fans, both on PC and Xbox 360 at 12:00pm Mountain Standard Time.

Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%

M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

You can learn more about the Cerberus Assault Armor in a Arsenal update with screenshots of the armor in action here: http://masseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/armor/

That armor looks pretty cool, but it also looks like another complete armor set that you can't change. So thanks, but no thanks Bioware.

Check out the Cerberus daily news on the in game main menu...they talk about the New York Giants beating the Beijing Dragons in Super Bowl CCXIX, lol.

I'm really interested in that asteroid they keep talking about, the one that's coming close to the Hanar colony. I'm hoping for a DLC mission where you land on it and blow it up, Armageddon style.

That seems like it would be a little too similar to Bring Down the Sky.

Out of all the classes I still think Soldier is the best....just feels "right" for Shepard.

http://kotaku.com/5467071/ea-something-far+reaching-coming-from-mass-effect-in-2011

Developer BioWare has a busy 2011 ahead of them, with a new Dragon Age title, Star Wars: The Old Republic and, according to EA execs "something far-reaching coming from Mass Effect" in early 2011. Electronic Arts COO John Schappert added that "something far-reaching" from the Mass Effect franchise to the list of upcoming titles due in the fourth quarter of the company's 2011 fiscal year. That means something Mass Effect related arriving between January 1 and March 31 of next calendar year.
Could BioWare have Mass Effect 3 wrapped up by then? The developer's project manager Casey Hudson noted that they "definitely want to make 'Mass Effect 3' a fairly short turnaround." And, well, that would be fairly short.
BioWare could also have much more planned for owners of the recently released Mass Effect 2 or maybe even something for PlayStation 3 owners hungry for some Mass Effect. Whatever Mass Effect "something" EA has penciled in for next year, it won't be the end for the franchise.

Yeah, the soldier class isn't affected as much as some of the other classes at higher difficulty levels because bullets effect everything. From my understanding the Adept class is the most affected.

I have also started an insanity play-though recently and have noticed that my squad-mates are dieing a lot for the same reasons. They don't seem to realize when they are getting shot at they should duck.

Took me two hours last night to acquire Grunt.

Took me another hour and a half on Horizon. I hate Harbinger on Insanity.

Luckily I took Grunt with me who takes forever to die. Miranda on the other hand. Dead in a split second almost every time.

So, what do people have for characters?

My first (and only completed playthrough, thus far) was with my imported level 60 FemShep Soldier (rushed her to a completed ME1 playthrough upon finishing my fourth playthrough of Dragon Age, finishing the day ME2 came out), who will more than likely be my permanent primary character, due to her metatextual concept.

I started a Vanguard fresh in ME2, based loosely on Star Lord, with the team resembling the Guardians - the analogues are more or less there, if you want to look for them. I know, Star Lord isn't really a Vanguard, but hey, I wanted to play one, and I need some attachment. I wound up deleting the career, though.

So now I'm back in ME1, running an Infiltrator through, based largely on Michael Westen. Whee!

I imported an Engineer and switched classes to Sentinel because the Tech Armor seemed like it would be more beneficial to my play style than the Combat Drone.

I had a Level 60 Paragon - Adept that I transferred over to Adept because I love using Singularity. Also, you do get to use more than a pistol in ME2.

Pistols are still one of the best weapons in ME2, even so.

I shoot down gunships with my pistol.
