Well, no, I've bought some DLC already. Just haven't gotten to Lair of the Shadowbroker. Although I think I may get it tonight. How long is it?
It took me two-and-a-half or three hours, or a little longer than that while exploring all the extra content that opens upon completion.

ok so to answer the question on why some gamers still feel ME2's rpg part feels gutted to them, it's at the end of this video.

played the shadow broker last night and it was freaking sweet.
I new that was a set up for liara to become the new ower of that network. and man the result. man so much info she gathered and what to do with it. hehehe. I have my own spy network.
Hopully by the time mass effect 3 happens what I said I hope happen happens. cause that would be even sweeter.

You should put that in spoiler tags. There are people who haven't played it or have played it but have not completed it.

I'm wondering what other kinds of content we'll see for bridging the way to ME3. Keep in mind that we probably can't get any DLC dealing with Wrex or the Rachni.

I'd like to see some DLC concerning our ME2 squadmembers, personally. And I'd like to see something concerning the Alliance and/or Cerberus more directly, probably involving our Virmire survivor, Anderson, and Hackett. Unfortunately, that gets so big that it becomes too costly because of the VAs.

sorry about that. I guess I was overly excited. OK done. I'd also like to see that plus the stuff I said Pryor to this DLc for ME3 after words.

I guess the best way for your idea to be done though with out it being expensive is to do it like they did dragon age awaking expansions pack style.

They've said the ME franchise will see no type of expansion. Expansions are old school, not new school.

Maybe if they planned it in an episodic nature: a mission meeting up with the Virmire survivor, fighting alongside them, fulfilling some pro-Alliance mission objective, and ending with the Virmire survivor leaving to report in and what not. And then the next piece of DLC picks up, no Virmire survivor, but Anderson and Hackett, let's say, offering to patch things up with Shepard, or something.

That might be one way to do it, while keeping individual DLC costs down. Really, $10 is as high as DLC should go, and even then only rarely.

They said that after doing that with dragon age???? That's funny, too funny. as to the rest of what you said I agree. that's as far as I'm willing to pay for DLC. I rather it at that cost or lower. especially with the recession and all every needs to save on these things.

Yes. Key phrases of my post: "old school" and "new school." Dragon Age is old school, when expansions were normal and, I dare say, reigned. Mass Effect is new school. No expansions.

New school involves charging you through the nose. Something Bioware have become quite accustomed too as of late.
OLOL I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS BEFORE OMG NEWS!

I have not been overcharged by a single piece of content I've added to either of my two games. I don't know who has - I mean, I suppose if there was a billing error, you should probably take that up with the company. You know, if they billed you twice or three times for points. Microsoft or BioWare, I suppose. Call them. Explain the situation. Provide proof. I'm sure you'll get credited.

Oh wait, you were saying it's all overcharged crap. Oh ha ha! I get it now!

Please.

Do I need the Mass Effect 2 disc to play the new DLC? Cuz if that's true then I'm screwed.

Depends how much you value their content.

While that is true, it can take someone skilled (as in one person with no budget) less than day to re-do these types of models. The main model, the animations and voice work are already there it's just a case of alteration it. It's certainly not worth my $2. I'd much rather just go buy an old cheap game or an indie game for that price.

I grabbed Lair of the Shadowbroker and the Firepower pack. Both money well spent (though really, I'm happy to give Bioware my money, haha). I really liked all the information you get at the end of Shadowbroker--[blackout]Grunt's internet search history[/blackout] is hilarious. The new version of stasis is really useful for taking enemies with high defenses off the field while you clean up the grunts. The firepower pack weapons are also great; should take the edge off the insanity difficulty for anyone who hasn't beaten it yet.

I've got a review up if anyone is making their purchasing decisions.

I'd hardly count that as a spoiler, but I supposed I can black it out.

Costumes are different than actual content, I'd say - but don't worry, I get it. You like making lump-all statements. Really, they're a phenomenal tool for propaganda. Most stupid people never figure it out!

Fortunately, the people who post frequently in this thread aren't stupid.

If you don't like them, don't buy them. Pretty ****ing simple. It doesn't make them overpriced. It makes them not worth it to you because you don't want them, or you don't like them.

What do we call that, children? That's right! Subjective!

I English-nerdgasmed at [BLACKOUT]Hemingway[/BLACKOUT]. Also, the [BLACKOUT]misspellings[/BLACKOUT] and [BLACKOUT]"battlemaster shepard"[/BLACKOUT].

It's not really any spoiler at all, Saint, I agree, but eh.

To be honest, I don't really like Mass Effect 2 enough to buy it again, I'll probably do it with Dragon Age though in the future when a steam sale pops up. Vanilla Fallout 3 at the moment is £21.99 with the Game of the Year Edition at £29.99. Steam has many 50%/75% weekend deals rolling out, so hopefully, should be be pretty cheap when the time comes.

I'd wait, if I wasn't such a fan. Same with Fallout 3. Other games, I'd wait for the DLC to be re-released on a disc and get it then. So, I just went ahead and bought all the mission based DLC (Overlord, Kasumi, Shadowbroker...) and haven't jumped into any of them yet...but I'm curious, does the Shadowbroker DLC really wrap up the Shadowbroker storyline? I was expecting the Shadowbroker storyline to be something that would carry over into ME3, but some of the spoiler-free reviews I've glanced at make it seem like the DLC pretty much answers everything and ends it.
