major spoilers on that one...watched it, but still-the anticipation went up like 10 notches.

I think I'll avoid most of Biowares promo the videos from now on, they showed far too much of Dragons Age's early game content and it appears they are being overzealous here also.

Details on the DLC and Cerberus Network card:

BioWare, a division of EA, today revealed 'The Cerberus Network', an in-game portal in Mass Effect 2 that will keep fans engaged with the rich and dynamic Mass Effect universe through downloadable content (DLC) and news. 'The Cerberus Network' is activated exclusively by original purchasers of Mass Effect 2 through a single-use unlock code that comes included in retail and digital versions of the game worldwide. 'The Cerberus Network' is a conduit for players to receive bonus content as well as daily messages and news on upcoming releases for Mass Effect 2 for no extra charge. For players who do not buy the game new, 'The Cerberus Network' can be unlocked through a one-time, in-game purchase of a new activation code*.

Mass Effect 2 is the first blockbuster video game release of 2010, having recently been named as one of the "Most Anticipated Games of the Year" by the New York Times, IGN and Wired.

"The Cerberus Network augments and extends the rich universe of Mass Effect 2," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. "We're thrilled to be able to reward loyal BioWare and Mass Effect fans with ongoing, high quality content and provide a direct channel for our players to dive deeper into the intriguing lore of Mass Effect."

Players who access 'The Cerberus Network' will receive the first DLC pack on January 26th (launch day in North America) featuring new missions and in-game items. Included in this pack is a mission that introduces Zaeed, a rugged and deadly gun-for-hire who is recruited to join Commander Shepard's mission to save mankind.

After launch, BioWare will release another DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 that introduces the Hammerhead, a new vehicle in the Mass Effect universe. This agile hover tank features improved handling on rough terrain and maneuvers deftly in combat -- a necessity for players traveling across harsh planetary environments throughout the galaxy. In addition to this new vehicle, BioWare will release new missions and unique in-game items, including Cerberus Assault Armor which boost shields, health and heavy weapon ammo and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.

The Mass Effect trilogy is an epic science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious, uncharted planets. In Mass Effect 2, players will step into the role of the heroic Commander Shepard, commanding a crew of the most dangerous operatives from across the galaxy on a mission so challenging that it's potentially suicidal. Featuring intense shooter action, a rich futuristic storyline, stunning space exploration and emotionally engaging characters, the game delivers an unparalleled cinematic experience.

Mass Effect 2 is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system and PC on January 26, 2010 in North America and January 29, 2010 in Europe and has been rated 'M' for Mature by the ESRB and '18+' by PEGI. so...what is james kyson lee doing in this game? Anyone know who he's voicing?

thanks for the vid, dark lord.

but wtf...like it doesnt take into account if you played through ME1 again with the same character and made the opposite choices....

i hope, that if u did beat the game a few times with the same profile, you can choose which choices you want to carry over...

yes it does...it's been said over and over. It will give you the option of choosing w/e game save that you wish to, along with whatever choices you made in that save.

well good. i havent seen that said anywhere yet :embarrassed:

has there been any word if the rachni will be involved in any way? if not, i think it would be nice to have that choice come back in ME3 from what you did in the first. it would suck going against a rachni army, but would be absolutely bad ass to have on your side in the final fight with the reapers...

Yeah, 1 playthrough = 1 save.

So if you went through to level 32 the first time, that's 1 save. If you played again continuing the same profile to level 60, that's a whole other save. So make sure you make the choices you wanted to make. :o

And yeah, the Rachni are the returning choice I want to see the most. I never thought about it, but Ace brought up how it might actually work against you. :D I'm wondering how The Fan is going to pan out too.

Now, have they said what will happen if you decide not to import a character or if you play ME2 without actually playing the first one? Like how it will work choice wise?

I remember reading something like at the beginning you're asked questions about stuff that happened in ME. If you import a save it's testing your memory, and if you're not importing then your answers are creating the outcomes for your new character.

similar to the first one, you'll build your character and you'll get an overview of the events of the first game

Ill probably play through first with one of my saves and then play through fresh...and then start a new game in the first one and play through both

My last playthrough was on Insane.

I maxed out at Level 60.

I saved the Council, didn't kill Wrex.

My only question is about unlocking weapons such as assault/sniper/shotgun for your adept characters if those carry over too.

They have that interview or whatever, but I read that you can't choose everything. Some choices are made for you. I don't remember where I read it though. I'll post it, if I find anything.

Normandy SR-2

What do you mean by this?

I think he's talking about how in the first game, when you killed a number of enemies which a specific weapon, you'd get an achievement for it. You could then start a new game, as an adept for example, and as a bonus you could select the ability to use a rifle (if you had the achievement for it). I guess he wanted to know if that would carry over. If his adept would be able to use a rifle/shotgun/whatever when imported in ME 2. I don't think we'll be able to do that.

Anyway...Some got the game early and it has also been leaked (at least the 360 version) online. So...be careful of spoilers.

WOW! I had chills through the whole trailer.

And about the weapon thing-seeing as how your upgraded powers/levels are not being transferred over to ME2, I doubt the weapon thing will be.
