Mass Effect 2

please....more like the Turian equivalent of Barney Fife....he's there to back me up and clean my weapons

Jack and Grunt are my attack dogs

I had no problems with the responses to your presence by your previous teammates, really. Any of them.

Ashley and Kaidan were your fellow humans, and directly under your command. I mean, theoretically, any of the original game's crew could have said "**** this, Shepard, I'm done," and walked off the ship BUT them. They're both Alliance, and it's clear they both revere Shepard highly. (Ashley does refer to Shepard, regardless of gender, as a god for what he/she did.) It's pretty clear that, for them, Cerberus is a huge deal breaker.

Liara - well, it's purely speculation on my part, but it's possible Liara found some deep connection to Shepard, relationship or not, because of all the Prothean business and mind-melding. BioWare won't be as heavy-handed and didactic as to call Liara the canon romance after all their talk about there being no canon Shepard, but she is the one who saved Shepard from the Collectors. It's detailed in the Mass Effect: Redemption comic, and if you choose the right responses on Illium after doing her sidequests for her, she comes out and says it.

But she's cold now, and I liked that development for her character. Some bad stuff goes down while she's saving Shepard's body mush, and she wants to give payback for it.

hopefully the third game answers some questions about the Shadow Broker...and i think its someone that we've met in the game already

Total shot in the dark, but maybe Sha'ira?

I kinda thought that Ash was the romance Bioware had gone with. Things seemed actually emotional with her.

And I've begun to think the Asari are kind of just the users of the galaxy. Most of the backstory I've seen on Asari's have them partying for like 400 years, and then take the dna of whoever they're with and create an Asari baby.

Seems like a nice deal for them.

Maybe....it seems that pureblood Asari are a bit on the wonky side though

maybe Gianna Parisi??

I think Barla Von could be right, the Shadow Broker could be like a tight knit group of a handful of people.

I'm curious if maybe Miranda's dad might play into it. They made him sound really powerful, and high up, without ever giving much information on him.

could be, I think it's probably 3 or 4 people...Mirandas dad may be one of them...he does seem pretty powerful

And almost like a Male-Asari in how he had his two daughters born.

Kinda creepy, actually.

No, I think he's just an *******...a rich ******* who wants to make sure his genes live on

Then there must be a long-lost brother.

Because making sure his daughters will have nice large breasts and perfectly round butt cheeks...does seem a little creepy.

indeed...Miranda has quite the bumper...I could bounce a dollar off that thing and get 4 quarters back

Ya know, I remember when the first game was coming out there was a bit of rivalry between it and Too Human which came out around the same time iirc.

I remember taking one look at both of them and immediately knowing which one was going to be getting a sequel.

There was a rivalry between Mass Effect and Too Human? Because I never thought for a second that I would play Too Human.

I remember reading threads back on the gamespot forums about which game was going to be better. Granted most people KNEW Too Human was going to suck but there were holdouts. I also recall IGN posting an article once about Bioware and Silicon Knights both approaching their series as trilogies and somebody saying that Too Human actually had a framework in place for a trilogy and ME was only making a trilogy to make a trilogy. :hehe:

I think the Too Human thread we had here had somebody comparing the two based on preview and saying that Too Human would be better (there was a graphics comparison where the poster said Too Human looked superior as well).

I just thought it was funny when you consider how spectacularly Too Human crashed and burned and that ME is still running strong.

Mass Effect is pretty much a franchise now. There's a comic book mini-series, there's been like two books written with a third on the way.

Hollywood seems interested (even though Hollywood is a ****e who is interested in everything), and even though it's a trilogy I've read that officially Mass Effect will still get games even after ME3.

The trilogy itself is Shepard's story, which I guess means they could create new characters and a different hero/anti-hero to fill the Shep position if they want.

There was also that Galaxy game for the iphone with Jacob/Miranda.

And yeah, I'm guessing that they'll set ME4> at the very least a few decades down the line so that its past the time of Shepard.

Mass Effect has quickly become one of my favorite fictional universes, so I'm definitely looking forward to some more games. Hopefully of different genres.

Here is a gttv interview with the Doctors. It shows some gameplay footage of the Hammerhead and how the missions will play out. They also seem to confirm the Kasumi rumors.

I adore Bioware since Baldur´s Gate, and ME2 is their best yet.
I just love this game.

So, my games recap:

Mass Effect 1 - Male Shepard (Paragon)
- Relationship with Ashley (my first playthrought, back in 07 i was Liara´s guy)
- Killed Kaiden
- Didn´t killed Wrex
- Let Council died and gave "job" to Anderson

Mass Effect 2 - Imported character
- Relationship with Tali (f**k Ashley)
- Gave base to Cerberus, but cut the communications with the Illusive Man during the conversation.
Cerberus has the collector´s technology, but Shepard has the Reaper´s
- Jack and Zaeed died

So, what´s your ending?

That my playthrough in bold.

- I let the council live
- blown up the Collector base
- Got the Geth on my side (hopefully for ME3 and also I hope you get a Krogan army too)
- Zaeed and Mordin died because I accidentally made Zaeed leader the second time instead of Garrus again. And Mordin couldn't hold the line :csad:.

I had to do the relationship with Tali. It made the most sense to me. Tali stayed with you even though she doesn't trust Cerberus. That proves how that Tali was willing to follow Shepard into hell unlike Ashley, which pissed me off.
