Mass Effect 2

I wonder how many of these characters will actually stay on for Mass Effect 3. Garrus, Tali, Miranda, and Jacob (given how the latter two left Cerberus in my game) seem to be the most obvious ones to stay, but with Shepard no longer with Cerberus in my game it would mean the others won't get paid for any more missions. Which of the others would stay?

Given how the end cutscene played out, I'm guessing that anyone still alive will be with Shepard in the next game.

Well we kinda thought that after the first game too. :o

Im hoping 3 fills in the gaps about the Shadow Broker and the dying sun on Haestrom

And the Rachni.

But, I would expect them to keep the squad intact this time around. The same with allowing us to keep our level. They got a pass this time because it was pretty ****ing awesome how they explained it. But, I don't think they can kill Shep again just to have us restart from level 1 again. The rumors of Bioware wanting to get Mass Effect 3 out quicker makes sense too, if you think they want to keep the squad and carry over the xp.

Mass Effect 3 will be interesting enough, but watching how they'll deal with some of these things is too.

The ongoing comic book makes sense.

From what I hear, the mini has been selling insanely well.

Ah, Street Figher, what have you started :(

Oh well, none of those look that good, so I'll skip

Well... Mordin will stay because he wants help righting his wrong, and in my game Shepard said he would help.
Jack doesn't really have anywhere else to go. Legion doesn't really have anywhere to go either. Grunt can go to Tuchanka, but i don't see that happening.
Thane is
dying
, so he might as well stay. Samara has already completed what she set out to do when you met her.
The only one I can really see leaving is Zaeed, because he was the only one really in it for the money.

"Kasumi -- Stolen Memory," the next piece of premium Mass Effect 2 DLC launches next month. That's "premium" as in "you have to pay for it even if you have the Cerberus Network." So how much will you have to pay to cover Kasumi's theft? 560

for the Xbox 360 version, or 560 "BioWare Points" for the PC version, which comes to $7 in either case.

When the DLC was first announced, the release date was listed as April 6. Now it's "April in North America and Europe." We're checking with EA to confirm the exact date for, well, your date with Kasumi.

Rather awkward pricing, but there you have it

I agree with everyone except for Legion. I think in ME3 he is going to be very much like Wrex was in ME2.

Depending upon what you did in the campaign mode, I could see him taking charge of the Geth to help you mount a Geth attack force against the Reapers.

But of course you never know with BioWare :woot:

The Firewalker Pack (Hammerhead) is now available for the PC and 360.

There's also a countdown that ends in less than 6 days at BioWare's site, BioWare's Social Network site, the Mass Effect site and the Dragon Age site.

This is what BioWare's Chis Priestly said about the countdown:

Hmm.. seems to be a countdown clock on each BioWare page. Main site, Mass Effect, Dragon Age....

... must be something cool coming.

I just feel like they could have taken some of the RPG stuff a bit further.

The main thing that bothered me in the first game was the cluttered UI and item pickup which was more bad design than anything else. As far as classes and skills go, I think it would have been better if they made it more complex than streamlining it to the point it's 4-5 bars. I don't like the ammo pickup, it feels like sonic picking up rings or something. I wish they would totally do away with wall-cover systems or at least take emphasis off of it.

The thing that bothers me about the ammo is that you had infinite ammo in the first game, but in Mass Effect 2 they give you so much of it it's functionally unlimited anyway. So why change?

What don't you like about the cover system?

Personally, I hate them.
The majority of wall-cover games I have played consist of pocking your head out with bursts of fire while the AI sits camped waiting to be picked off or walk towards you at a moderate pace waiting to be picked off. I don't really find it particularly visceral or exciting and little in the way or tactical beyond ordering other squad members to sit behind a wall. When you add in the Biotic powers the player can very cheaply take out most enemy's without doing very much. e.g. shoot the wall and dangle them in the air. I'd probably enjoy the combat alot more if it was sped up to something similar to MDK with strafing as opposed to wall-cover (not taking into account team mates).

That's more of an issue with AI than the cover mechanic itself isn't it? In which case, I would agree. If you're going to do cover-based combat, then you should program your AI to do more than crouch quietly waiting to be killed.

But personally, I would prefer a mediocre cover system over circle-strafing any day of the week.
