Mass Effect 2

It was free, so don't complain!!!
Now if the Kasumi pack sucks, then you should complain.

It was not free. It is part of a package that cost money or is given in a new copy to entice a consumer to purchase a new copy in order for the company to ensure they get the consumer to pay the highest price possible so they maximize their profits. It also takes up hard drive space and the players time, which I am sure a lot of people would rather not waste.

With all due respect you have no right to tell me what I can and can not do, so please refrain from doing so.

its free....quit yer *****ing....

I have a 250 G hard drive, so it doesn't take up too much of my space

I have already explained why that is not necessarily a true statement. There is no reason to act like a jerk. If you don't like my post you don't have to read it.

Also not everyone has a 250GB HDD.

that's why I said "my space" Id see your point if a new copy of the game was 5 or 10 bucks more for the Cerberus Network, but it wasn't....granted EA wants people to purchase the game new, but what publisher doesn't

I doubt any publisher is sitting around and happy that used copies of their games are flying off the shelves

Plus I don't want a used game being touched by some pudgy kid who hasn't seen the light of day, and disappointed his parents, before me. New all the way for games like Mass Effect, and Splinter Cell.

Frederik van der Veer

Visit The Louve and zoom into street level view. Find the man in the red shirt and white shorts taking a picture of the Louve but don't get distracted by the girl in blue! Screen cap the man in red and girl in blue. To their left, your right, there is a van with a word spelled out in red on the side. Type this word into the Hype search bar to find your next clue.

or some hyperactive 10 year old whos parents ignore him and walks around with his fly open all day

(saw this in a GameStop)

Maybe you don't realize that it was free?
Maybe you don't realize what is said in my posts.

For some it was. At first Cerberus network was only offered as part of the Collectors edition, then after those people pre-ordered it was added to all new copies.

Even without that qualifier though the Cerberus network is part of a business experiment at EA called Project $10 in which the company tires to convince consumers to buy their games new and with in the first 2 to 3 months of release by including some piece of digital content that is valued at least $10. They are doing this not only to combat used sales but also to push digital distribution and because they realize that not all games deserve/can convince consumers to pay an equal price point.

ME2 being a single player game means that it is easy to hold off on. A consumer can wait for it to go on sale and still get the same experience of the consumer that bought it new. So the CN tries to get people to buy it new and not trade it in by releasing content slowly that should be of value to the consumer.

If you were going to buy the game new for some reason no matter what then from that point of you it didn't cost anymore than other games price similarly, but for anyone that bought it because of the Project $10 than it did and is continuing to cost them more.

eh, the business model for selling video games has changed so much from the days of Atari and such....I think franchises like Rock Band and Guitar Hero are bigger ripoffs (both in content and peripherals) than with EA did what Mass Effect 2

and it's entertainment, you're not obligated to be entertained or purchase said items....don't like it, read a book

I agree with this.

This makes no sense. You're not obligated to do anything and no where did anyone say we were. Seems like you just pulled that last bit of out no where so you could say something snarky.

sorry...that comes from my time in retail, people act like they are obligated to be entertained and throw a hissy fit if you don't have a movie or game they like...or its not at the price they want

I see, I have also spent a small amount of time in retail so I can understand the frustrations that come from it.

The Firewalker stuff did seem kind of dull from what I played. I thought the vehicle was pretty neat, but the mission I went on wasn't very fun. You can't take much damage so I basically just sat back and jumped while shooting everything out of their range, then moved on after getting everything

Yes. A mock auction. They have a ton of free stuff up there, are giving you play money to bid on said items, and will then give you said items if you win the bids.

Oh balls. Let the *****ing begin!

I guess I have 4,420 tokens so far?

Eh. I didn't have to do too much effort and if I can snag a hat or a Statue, that would be cool.

Agreed. It's not like they're asking me to go scavenger hunting in the park or something. Seems like a possible reward, for pretty much doing nothing. That's what I call awesome.

I won 500 tokens in one of their "Chris's Challenges".

Maybe I can win the computer. LOL

I mean most people are on fairly even ground in terms of tokens. It's those "Challenges" where one can rack up a little bit more than the rest. But hey, I already have the game, don't need it on the computer, so I'd be happy with a N7 t-shirt.

I wonder if Kasumi will be a relationship option for a fem Shepard. The options were pretty slim for her.

And on the subject of relationships, what if the relationship with Tali and Garrus would be the thing that kills them in the third game? With Tali it's pretty obvious with the already weak immune system, but with Garrus, Turians and Humans are already on fragile terms. His relationship with Shepard becomes public knowledge and that might upset some people say, in the Tera Firma party and becomes victim of an assassination attempt.

I wouldn't want it to be as absolute as "You sexed Tali; She dies". Not only would that be a huge middle finger to fans, but there's so much more they could do with that. It could be the groundwork for some pretty cool sidequests though. Tali becomes deathly ill. You have to travel across the galaxy to find the right ingredients for Dr. Chakwas to make some medicine for her.
