I just bust out the M-920 Cain....or as I like to call it 'Ol' Painless'

Scions aren't bad once you get their timing down. It's just that fighting the two in that last area on Horizon absolutely sucks, because there's really no place to hide from both at the same time, and even if you can, your dumb**** AI squadmates will still die.

So F that. I shoot them from the doors as best I can. Much easier with a sniper rifle, but doable with the pistol.

Try the pain of Shockwave on Insanity, though. Guh.

so how do you all see the Commander?? I kinda view my character as an independent body of 'bringin' the law' in the galaxy

I play my Commander as your action movie hero; he's all about fighting for the Alliance, and save the galaxy, etc. This is so that if I ever get to replay the game in the future, I'll make a badass Commander who doesn't give a damn about anybody, a polar opposite of my current Shepard. :word:

That is the one drawback to kicking Scion ass: your squadmates will die. This is not a warning; it is a fact.

I went very action game-ish on the double-Scion fight. I kept running from cover to cover taking potshots at them with my AR and biotics the best I could. Occasionally I'd use a Unity and resurrect one of my inevitably dead squadmates to set up a biotic combo just before they died again, but it still took me forever to kill the bastards.

That's kind of how I see my main Shep. It's probably informed by all the superheroes I love, since they're all vigilantes who operate independent of the law for a more subjective moral righteousness. Usually I'll play my Shep more toward the Paragon side, but he'll have a few Renegade actions thrown in--I think of them as his having a low tolerance for bulls***. :)

same here....I understand there is an underbelly to the galaxy, people have needs/desires, etc....as long as you don't shoot at me, I won't shoot at you

but harm innocent people, or try and overtly cause issues and I will put boot to ass

Heh, yeah, basically Shep is a high-minded idealist who's interested in saving and maybe even improving the galaxy... until you f*** with him, and then he'll kill you. :awesome:

Captain America. I couldn't help but picking paragon. His sole survivor background with losing all his men step up a great story of finding redemption

My Shepard is some weird amalgamation of Picard, Adama, and Han Solo.

Since my soldier specializes in AR (and now a Commando), I wonder if I should've picked pistol as my secondary weapon or put more into sniper. Sniping is cool, but so far it has limited use. However, I tend to use AR in every situation, and I'm not sure when I should switch out for pistol and its Marksman ability.

I base my Shep on me (not looks... looks is game box male shep). Any choice he makes in game is a choice I would make. I'm as good as I can be without being "fake". No one is perfect, so if a choice I make ends up not being a paragon choice even if it seemed good at the time....so be it, I'll recognize it as a mistake and try to fix it.

Every once and a while I may go renegade (I only did in ME1 to get the achievement) but it's something I don't do in any game... because, like I said, I often put my own moral choices in these characters.

I'd love to say my Shep is a Han Solo, no nonsense, cocky, kind of guy... but in reality he's probably more of a Luke Skywalker. :p

Question about ME2, how are the conversation options done in that game? Any changes? Playing ME1 and it sucks how certain conversation options aren't available, because apparently I don't have high enough Paragon. Even though my charme is almost maxed out, the option is still gray. And that's really annoying.

I'm at a story point, where no matter which of the 3 regular answers I choose, I shoot the guy in the face. I have nothing against shooting a jerk in the face, I just hate the fact that I have no other option.

It's kinda similar except now you can hit the RT or LT for Paragon or Renegade cut scene depending on the scenario.

So would you guys recommend having pistol or sniping rifle as my soldier's secondary weapon (AR is his primary)? I'd like to get some feedback for it because my character is kind of at a crossroad right now in terms of pts distribution, and since I can't reset talent points I have to make sure before I allocate those points. Thanks!

In Mass Effect 2 you can reset talent points.

if you really want to avoid that same problem then the best way is to have your character from the first ME imported from that first game. that way you won't be loacked out of those chose when your playing ME2. mine was adept paragon and needed my charm raised up high in the first game so I had to play the game a certain way so I didn't let the private guy kill him self over that cerberus issue. and got that lady to drop that drug lord thing out of her crime organisation. but if you do what I did by importing that part of the problems gone you just need to deal with theproblems you face as they are and the options are open to you.

I kept forgetting about those. I missed some because I'd put my controller down or only hold it in one hand for some cutscenes.

Valeria Shepard is a to-the-point soldier and marine. It's all about the job, the mission, the assignment, and anything that gets in the way is fair game. That's what made Torfan a successful mission. Unsurprisingly, she's heavily Renegade, just without the deplorable choices.

On the other hand, my "canon" John Shepard is a human supremacist. He's all about the Alliance and he's all about Cerberus. He actually wound up heavily Paragon in ME1, due to dealing a lot with Alliance officials (who he was always nice to, of course). Generally goes Renegade when dealing with aliens, which is to say, shooting aliens is good.

I see my Shepard (William) as the ultimate force for good and justice in the universe. He doesn't believe one race is higher than the other. He is loyal to his team, and his team is loyal to him, this is what leads to everyone surviving the Suicide Mission at the end of the game. He is usually the voice of reason in conversations, and can easily disarm a situation. He was also loyal to his love interest, Liara.

my Sheparad (Kara) is a butt kickin', space whiskey drinkin', gun shootin', face punchin', sheriff of the galaxy

She believes in her ship, her crew, and the gun in her hand
