having some problems solving this equation.

Find the DOMAIN of f(x) = x/ 2x-3

...any help is appreciated.

For those, set the denominatior (or bottom part of the fraction) to zero and solve, cause it can't equal 0.

And before someone crucifies me, I wanna teach physics, so deal.

I'm a real math ******. How would you write that out Nytewing?

Thanks JStorm! And for this one..the same thing?

g(x)= x+7/2

J-Storm did a pretty good job.

2x - 3 = 0.

2x = 3 (You add 3 to both sides of the equation)

x = 1.5 (Divide both sides by 2)

Because the denominator can't equal 0, you said that x cannot equal 1.5.

There ya go.

Yes. Always set to zero then solve.

Oh no.... Spider-Bite started a new trend...... using the Hype to cheat on your math test....

First: 2x-3=0
Second: 2x=3 Because you added a positive 3 to the negative 3 and the zero. Hence.. -3 + 3 = 0 and 3 + 0 = 3
Third: Divide 2x by 2 and 3 by 2.
Fourth: x = 3/2

and x = 0 if you want to get technical.

Yeah, I mean "helping" is a little different to giving an answer. . . I hope the reciepient of these answers appreciates the generosity of the time that is being given for their own POTENTIAL lack of trying, albiet more likely due to lack of understanding.

Either way, I love maths.

Damn i love you guys! :D

Just be glad the semester is over. Had you asked these questions during race week, I would've ignored you.

This one has an infinite domain, because the function exists for every value of x. There's no value of x that will make the function indeterminate.

i miss the good ole days when math used numbers

Sign and Co-sign.

Riddle me this.

I will not ask my fellow posters; I'll just stay up for days until I find my own way.

I'm in geometry, so I guess lemme know if you need help with that kinda stuff.

I'm in third term calculus, so I guess lemme know if you need help with that kinda stuff.

probability questions like this are a nightmare for me:

A committee of 6 is to be chosen from a group of 6 men and 5 women. What is the probability that the committee will consist of 4 men and 2 women?

Help with this one:

In drawing 7 cards from a 52-card deck without replacement, what is the probablity of getting 7 hearts?
