Hi, I live in Australia, and I want to purchase the matrix trilogy on HD DVD, but it is only available in America. I know that there were originaly no region codes for HD DVDs, but I'm not so sure now. So, what I want to know is if I bought the matrix trilogy in America, would I be able to watch it in an Autralian HD DVD player? Thanks

All HD DVD's are supposed to be region free.

Thanks for all of your help. I thought so, but when I went onto Amazon it said that it was R1, so I got a bit worried. But after reading the link that Rac gave me, I think they must have said the it's R1 because the case called it R1 (allthough according to them, it's not.)
If anyone has more any more input, particuarly from people who don't live in America but have bought the matrix, please feel free to keep posting.

All HD DVD's are supposed to be region free and certain Blu-ray's are region free too but it all depends. This site has the list as far as I know.

There's gotta be region free HD/BD players out there. Just get one of those.

I've already got a HDplayer and a bluray player in my computer, so I'm not going to bother buying a whole new one, I'll just wait for it to come out in Australia if I have to.
