Ouch New Warriors...hurtin'...
C'mon guys!
That's a good point, too. Gail Simone's Deadpool was probably as funny or funnier, but her run was essentially just a primer for the switch to Agent X, who was kind of like Deadpool but just different enough to make me not give a ****.I actually thought Kelly's version succeeded less for the humor than the depth underlying it. Other versions have arguably been funnier, it's just that they don't make me actually give a **** the way he did.
I hate that there's only one trade of Kelly's Deadpool. I have most of the back issues, but they're all in Miami.I loved that Kelly had the sack to force Deadpool to make the Free Will vs. Endless Bliss decision for the entire universe and then leave it open as to whether he actually did the right thing. That's the kind of **** that other comics just don't do.
I like the book, but I can see why it is turning people off. The "twist" alienated a few people, and the pace is a bit slow. I am amazed it made it last issue #12, although they may just want to give Grevioux another arc to get Counter-Force into a comic while A:TI is doing a SI crossover.
You'll notice all the books that Marvel wants to leave for dead aren't having SI crossovers.![]()
