When I start my laptop, I get an MBR message....now, I know this can be really bad news. Basically, my computer absolutely will not boot up.
Now, I've heard that it can potentially be repaired with the OS setup disks. However, my lappy only came with Gateway-provided recover disks (4 of them). When I insert the first disk, an option to recover my system pops up. No matter which option I select, I get a message saying, "Hard-drive write error! Press any key to continue!" My computer then goes back to the boot screen for the entire process to begin again.
Is there anything I can do? Or do I need to replace my hard-drive?
