World MCG suit design

I did what I was PAID to do..
I was told to make extreme changes with the suit.
So...smart guy...what would you do if your boss gave you a direct
order...stand on principle and get fired.?:whatever:
I can understand that... but did he give a reason to why he wanted to see such a drastic change?

Well...WAMS, if you were a Superman fan, you`d simply walk out of the project. I would. Like Kevin Smith did. I`m sure you have talent and i can see it in you drawings. But when you`re dealing with Superman, a well known and love character by who he is and how he looks, you dont **** around with it.

At least, thats why i`m not in animation or in design. I hate being told what to do. Especially from clueless directors like Mcg or WB.

I think your suit designs were pretty cool. I was up so seeing Superman change yet you still kept a classic feel to it! :wow:

Kevin Smith didn't walk out of the project. He was paid good money for the script with the SpiderBrainiac and the polar bears. But Tim Burton hated that script and Kevin's guts so he had other writers working on the project.

True.

Smith's services were no longer required when Burton signed on. And despite the said three directives Peter's gave Smith on the "Superman Lives" script, Smith stayed on and abided by them until he was essentially let go by WB. Although I'm much more for the classic suit, I can also appreciate the Wams concept for a different type of suit. As no doubt, the Superman project he was working on was more of a complete and total reboot and not one that kept the Reeve/Donner/Lester flicks in a "vague history" and all that.

However both of them werent the movie that was supposed to be made. Not McG` vague/stupid reboot nor Singer`s vague sequel.

The suit on the Jon Peters pic. Also did you do any other costume designs besides Superman.

There was no \S/ on the back of his cape as I remember.
I also worked on the Batman year one...

well, like for STM and SR, they had a final design on what they wanted to see in the movie... did it ever get to that point when you were working for them?

I liked your Year one designs, too bad will never see them pass the drawing stages:csad:

I also did that design that Alex Ross gets credited for ... the red and black Spider-man
movie costume.

I was working for Warnerbros...so I was working for them.
Mc G and I meet only a few times...He took about
40 different designs I did.
He was already in the process of making different types of
suit to get the right one...when singer came on he had access to
all of what what previously done...He did take hints from what
Mc G's staff had already produced but added his own flare to it.
My evolment was small...There were quite a few artist contibuting ideas.
But I still say the lifesize version of that all blue suit Mc G was AMAZING in
person...Coulda been neat.

I bet that kinda pisses you off...

Nope not at all.
Alex gave me credit in all his interviews...
Also I have a credit in the video games as the designer.
Alex's star and talent overwhelms what people want to hear sometimes.:cwink:

Were you able to see suit designs for Tim Burton's and Brett Ratner's time on the project? If so could you describe them for me.

Sorry but this is not Superman`s suit. This is
