New danzig sounds great, can't wait till Monday-Tuesday for the release!

Not a huge Danzig fan. But his contributions to metal music is uncanny and should be recognized.

I also just bought two albums by The Faceless and hoping that my local music store manages to get my import copies of two Sanctuary albums.

I like the stuff he did with the Misfits, and the first 4 Danzig albums are good.

Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth performing "Am I Evil"=Most Metal thing ever.

And i was there to witness it :woot:

Incredible show, around 8 hours long with some interlude around 20-25 minutes between the bands.

You are so lucky. That had to be an amazing show! :D

Did Joey sing any Bush-ara Anthrax songs?

The only song i remember is Only...i don't think they did any other.

The setlist consisted of

I am the law
Caught in a mosh
Madhouse
Indians
Medusa
Metal Thrashing Mad
Be All,And All
A few covers(Antisocial and I got the time).

That's amazing that you got to see the supershow of the big four. I would've loved to have seen that and I'm surprised Anthrax didn't do "Armed and Dangerous".

That is one of their most underrated songs in my opinion and a showcase of Joey's vocal talents.

You lucky bastard! I went to the show at my local theater, but they took forever to get the show on, and then at the end, it suddenly cut off about half way through "Hit the Lights"! That pissed everyone off. But, I got two free tickets out of it! Great show all in all.

I will say, though, what the hell is up with Dave Mustaine's voice? He sounded horrible on all but a couple songs.

He has always had problems with the higher registry in his voice. Mostly apparent in the first 4 albums.

Songs from Countdown to Extinction forward have better live vocal performances.

It can be really bad sometimes.

Yeah, most of the songs he was singing sounded like he had just had oral surgery or something. Even when he got to sing some of "Am I Evil?", looked like he was in pain.

Also, anyone know why only Slayer's drummer joined the jam session on Am I Evil?

I was wondering the same thing. Kinda weird no one else from Slayer was out there.
After the song, Jeff Hanneman and Tom Araya came out to join the hug-fest, but Kerry King was nowhere to be seen. Did he have some babies to eat or something?

Anyone listen to Celldweller? They're kinda metal. Very trance-techno/metal. I freakin' love it. Been looking for a band like this for awhile now. "So Long Sentiment" and "Eon" are awesome, awesome tunes, if you like the sort of music it is. :woot:

I've been a long time fan of Klayton's, since Circle of Dust and Argyle Park. I knew he was working on a new album, aside from releasing the "Voices from My Head" stuff, but I didn't know he was releasing the songs in spurts. I'm definitely going to check it out.

I just ordered Celldweller's first album, and "Voices from My Head Part 1" from their website, no one else carries it, and if they do it's ridiculously priced.

Yeah the new album is called "Wish Upon A Blackstar". He's planning on releasing 5 chapters (two songs each for a chapter) for download, then he's going to release the CD version with two unheard songs on it.

I love "So Long Sentiment" been listening to it a lot as of now. :D

Hahaha yeah, his voice was buried under the distortion, very thin and whiny sounding...some guys in front of me were screaming ''Hey Dave stop killing our ears'' during Symphony of Destruction.

The thing that made the biggest impression on me was the charisma Hetfield possesses that Araya and Dave lack...both Slayer and Megadeth came, played, said thanks and left and except during the well known songs(Angel of Death,Raining Blood,Hangar 18,Symphony) the crowd was more into the anticipation of the main event rather than head banging to the fullest.

His relationship with the crowd and his enthusiasm are quite remarkable when you realize he's been doing it for 30 years. They played the songs professionally but their heart is still there which really made the crowd feel respected and not just another point on the map during the tour.

I may be the rare metal fan that actually likes hearing the music more than the banter between songs.

In some cases I am that fan too. But it also depends on the band too, however, majority of the bands we listen to are more into the music rather than bantering between songs.

Bands like Maiden, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, and Metallica always had interesting and exciting banter between songs.

It's one thing for a band to head out on stage, play 7-10 songs as fast as they can and then say good-night. (Like Slayer and Megadeth did.) But, it's a totally different thing to hit the stage, play your songs while involving the audience, take time to interact with the fans, and really put on a show.

There's a reason Metallica is by far the most successful of these four bands.
When I was watching Anthrax, I kept thinking, "Wow! These guys are awesome!"
When I was watching Megadeth, I kept thinking, "Man, Dave can't sing!"
When I was watchign Slayer, I kept thinking, "These guys are good, but they're show's kind of boring."
When I was watchign Metallica, I kept thinking, "Now these guys know how to put on a show!"

For some reason the thread list doesn't show mine as the latest post.
