Homecoming Michael Giacchino is the Composer for Spider-Man: Homecoming

None of those are nearly as memorable as any of the classic John Williams themes. IMO.

No one makes memorable scores on the same level as John Williams. It's crazy to think about how many themes he's written that are so crazily memorable and instantly recognizable. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, and so on. The man's a genius.

Back to the future is up there for me. The avengers is pretty close, just needs more exposure. Silvestri is probably the only one who can make a memorable theme nowadays not named John Williams.

Phantasm those are big themes but again can you actually hum them out and folks know what the heck it is. Again big themes like superman and star wars are really not the thing. Folks are not going to remember films for music. But for the action and story.

I don't know about you guys, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like the composer should incorporate the 60s/90s music into the main Spider-Man theme to create something truly unique, iconic and nostalgic. Like a movie-ized version of the classic theme.

Think something in the vein of the first 23 seconds of this remix:

You get the idea.

Oh god, that would be amazing. It wouldn't even surprise if they decide to do something like that, it seems very.. Marvel-esque

You'll listen to score and think to yourself, yep, that's just Marvel doing Spider-Man. :woot: God, it gives me chills just thinking about them movie-izing the classic theme; just thinking about what Feige has in store for this version of Spidey.

:exp:

Be ibyerrsting. Like past films did I am sure 60s theme be in their in some form. I just want a cool sound and feels and hits the high flying action pace sound spodey should have.

I thought of a Spider-Man 60's cartoon theme mixed with Ultimate Spiderman cartoon theme, both goes well together imo

umm what ultimate spiderman theme it doesnt have anything besides a few notes when logo flashes.

Either John Williams or the return of Danny Elfman.

john williams wont happen. He is pretty much semi retired and only works on projects in assoication with spielberg and lucas. As for danny loved his music, but i doubt he would return. Its more likely going to be a fresh new composer.

Still hoping for either Alan Silvestri(he's #1 on my list, actually as of right now. He's the only one on my list), or a more unknown composer.

I want alot of the staff/crew to be relatively unknown talent so when this movie succeeds they become big like *snap*.

If you want an iconic score, chances are you're not going to get one. These things just don't pop up every day. Most of the time, yes, it's talent, but also lightning in a bottle. That's why they're special and long lasting. I'm interested in what they do for Spider-Man's new theme but I'm keeping my expectations in check. Whoever takes on the job has a hard ask topping Elfman, IMO.

I'd like a Kevin Manthei score kinda like the Ultimate Spider-Man Videogame.

Ennio Morricone.

I like Cliff Martinez for Spidey. He won't try to do a John Williams-type score but something more eclectic and edgy. Love John Williams but time to move forward.

I really hope that whoever scores the new movie gives it an edgy, "coming of age" feel.. Which is why I really want:

Henry Jackman & Matthew Margeson:

Both of them did scores for Disney (Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6) and one of them even did a Marvel film (Henry Jackman TWS)

i bet it would likely be alan, maybe giaccho sorry i butchered his name. Or more likely some new younger composer or maybe someone either marvel has used a few times, or someone who has connections with sony. Heck we probably wont know who is doing the music to after filming is completed on the solo. As composers tend to come on at the end of the project and all.

If Silvestri could come up with something like his Back to the Future score for Spider-Man, he'd be onto a winner. That film has a great score as well as some good rock songs as well, all better than anything Chad Kroeger put out.

I wouldn't mind something along the lines of Ant-Man though. That has a good heroic score.
