Documentary/Biopic Michael Jackson Biopic in the works from Bohemian Rhapsody Producer

How come? It's a great album.
Because of the accusations, I believe them, can't get past them, gives me the ick just thinking about the guy in any way shape or form. Guy was a monster.
edit: I'm surprised there's so many people looking forward to this movie, without any reservations, looks like a freakshow to me.

Speaking with PEOPLE at the African American Film Critics Association Awards on Wednesday, Domingo, who is nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in Rustin, says filming on the movie Michael, which is currently underway, is “going well.”

“I’m having a good time with it,” he adds. “Right now I seem to be on the track of interrogating some of these real-life human beings. I want to find their humanity, I want to find their heart and their humor. It may go against public opinion sometimes, but I think that's my responsibility to find the complex version of these people.”

I'm with you on this.

Jackson's music is ultimately unscathed by his pederasty for me but I can't blame anyone who is unable to listen to it.

This movies existence makes me a little bit sick honestly.

How this isn't part of Sam Mendes's Beatles Cinematic Universe I'll never know.

The thing is, I would be totally chill with this movie if they just focused on a young Jackson before his accusations. But the fact that they are covering his whole life...just gives me the sense that they want this to be a counter piece to that documentary that came out a few years ago.

I enjoy Jackson's music, but I also believe the victims (there's too much evidence in the direction that he did it).

Not yet.

Wait until the post-credits scene of the Paul McCartney biopic years after when it's set, where Michael steps out of the darkness and says "No, Paul, the girl is mine."

Has that been confirmed yet that it’s his whole life? I’ve seen behind the scenes shots up to about 1988, where he released Bad and started touring. I have a feeling they may just stop it there.

Well that kills a ton of interest I had. Shame.

I mean, not super surprising given his family/estate is involved in this. I think, could be wrong aside from his nephew playing him.

I was gonna say, the estate is involved and a member of his family is playing him. It was always going to be very sanitized

I honestly just figured they’d kind of gloss over it as quickly as possible, rather than address it and take his side.

Hard pass. Too many people have came forward..

I'm really looking forward to this. I've been a fan of Michael since I was 8 years old, and even though he came under a lot of criticism and condemnation, I do not think he was a pedophile. One of my favorite books about him is called "Michael Jackson Conspiracy", and its by true-crime writer Aphrodite Jones. Its important though, to not let the title fool you - she openly admits that during the 2005 trial, she blasted him like everyone else. It was only after the verdict that she began to have doubts, and got permission from judge Rodney Melville to examine the evidence for herself. All the quotes in her book come directly from the trial transcripts, so for anybody who's on the fence, I suggest you read the book.

But is the plan for one of Michael's nephews to still play him in the biopic? Because that was heavily rumored

Yes, his nephew Jafaar (Jermaine's son) is playing Michael as an adult. The younger version will be played by Juliano Krue Valdi. The biggest name in the cast is probably Miles Teller, as Michael's attorney John Branca.

I see that Larenz Tate is playing Berry Gordy.

What's funny about this is I kept hoping Larenz Tate would be a part of the this, but as Quincy Jones, reprising his role from "Ray" 20 years ago.

I'm not familiar with Larenz Tate's work, and I still want to see "Ray", but for some reason I never got around to it. As for Quincy Jones, he always struck me as a little egotistical. He was very talented, but he and Michael often clashed, and they ultimately split up after the "Bad" album was done.
