MICHAEL KEATON RETURNS (or at least in discussion) AS BATMAN

The Flash movie filming in Scotland could see Batman return to streets of Glasgow

Glasgow and Edinburgh will be used to recreate Gotham City once again in upcoming superhero movie The Flash.

The film, which stars Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as different versions of Batman, has been filming in London recently.

But a source told the Sunday Mail that the production will also pay visits north of the border, specifically to Scotland’s largest city, and its capital too, in June.

It is understood that the two locations will be used to recreate scenes from Tim Burton’s Batman, which will appear in flashbacks.

The source told the Sunday paper: “It’s really exciting for DC Comic fans that film crews will be back in town. It’s great news for Glasgow and Edinburgh that once again the outstanding architecture will be showcased in such a big film.”

:woo:

I'm a little worried about them using Glasgow as a basis for Keaton's Gotham. Both Burton versions should ideally be combined which would need to be done on backlots/soundstages.

Then again, let's see what they do with post production.

This movie is going to be terrible at worst and a real wash at best. The first Flash film ever and this is the direction they go in.

Ezra needed the Bat-support. Sadly, the perception is that he is just not charismatic enough to carry a solo film.

Plus, the really needed something to differentiate itself from TV series which is still on the air.

How is this an indictment of Ezra as an actor?

WB is known to shove Batman in whenever they wanna rush towards something. BvS ring a bell?

Yes, no matter how good Miller might be, no matter how good the movie might be, it was always going to do even better with Keaton.

I guess part of the impetus for Keaton back as Batman is the tv show. B/c yeah its the first Flash movie but you have a tv show still on the air that ppl are used to. Or at least more popular than Ezra Miller. In fairness, none of the other DC or even Marvel character have that problem. The WW show was decades ago. Any MCU solo film would have the same problem if there was a tv incarnation of the character running @ the same time a movie is in production. So to stand out from the tv show do something bold like bring Keaton back as Batman.
But @ the same time its like there has been a Flash movie in development for so long. Even before the MCU came to be. Finally get to it & it’s more of a Batman movie? Lol.

To be honest I'm glad this is what we're getting as a first film. Flashpoint was one of the most interesting "events" in comics. A super hero who can time travel and uses it to change his origin story which has a massive butterfly effect on the rest of the universe, it's a really great idea.

Only problem is where you go with sequels because they've already exhausted the most impressive concept right out the gate.

Yeah its like doing Captain America Civil War as the origin instead of the First Avenger.
Maybe there just putting it all into one. Nolan always complained about every film being expected to set up sequels when he did Batman.

If some already got emotional just by seeing 89's Wayne manor, one can only imagine how many tears will be shed when the first set pics further unveil:

On the topic of Keaton's role, in my bit of speculation, I suspect we gonna be seeing his Batman in 2 moments: One first encounter with Flash while young, in that Barry gonna warn him about something (and we will get our fanservice to see this Batman in his prime with all the glory of current cinema tech - perhaps even using this rejuvenation CGI we've been seeing in some movies, to portray young Keaton for a few moments - and I think that's precisely the concept art image we've seen around, with Flash and a seemingly prime 89 Batman), and another in that few moments will have passed to Barry, but decades to that Bruce when then current Keaton will naturally play from there onwards.

Second, this I wonder in regards to what was revealed during the Crisis in the TV shows. They did briefly show this 89 Burtonverse earth and one of the things disclosed was the fact that Bruce and Selina at some point later met again and married. Now then, waiting to see if will they keep in track with that with a possible Michelle cameo or will this be ignored

I have a feeling anything to do with the Arrowverse/Crisis event will be ignored. WB/Muschietti will no doubt do their own thing.

As I also pointed out earlier, That Keaton image never made it to the crisis cw episode. They changed it to Jerry Ordway B89 artwork.

Its like Bar-Keaton is supposed to be the Rick or Doc Brown to Ezra Flash’s Morty or Marty McFly. I dunno just never thought of a Flash movie would be that lol.
