Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black & Mos Def

I'll see anything Gondry makes since I've loved his music videos and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I will definitely see this and it looks to be a really entertaining movie to :)

Um... Just one question, and it's not a big deal or anything but... why the HELL are they still using VHS tapes?? Are we not in the year 2007? They might as well make a movie about a guy who sucks the ink out of typewriters so he and his buddy have to recreate the ink by from their bodily fluids (eww).

This movie looks pretty bad IMO. Then again, most things with Jack Black are.

I think it looks great...seems very fresh compared to the other stuff out there.

I still watch VHS tapes, I know several people who do, and certainly the vast majority of seniors (as in 65+) that I associate with watch VHS, and tend to stick with what they've been doing for the past 30 years in general. An old woman with dimentia would DEFINITELY be renting VHS tapes.

Assuming that this isn't a big chain video store (Blockbuster, Hollywood, etc), they would almost assuredly carry VHS tapes, especially if it's locally managed and their most loyal customer only uses VHS.

Great natural question, but it has already been answered by the very premise of the movie.

You don't seriously think that everyone in the world has money, time and interest for DVDs do you?

I can't believe I haven't posted in here. I'm looking forward to this film, lots.

Jack Black & Mos Def remaking everything sounds brilliant.

I saw this at Sundance. And yes, it is amazing. It does have an interesting "twist" of sorts that they don't really go into with the preview, but it really amounts to a great movie experience.

They work at kind of a run down shop, and one scene involves their boss (Danny Glover) going to a new state of the art video store and taking notes on what they do differently, including DVDs.

Anyone go see it? I plan on going this weekend

I'm headed to go see this now . I m suprised no one here has seen or posted about it.

this is one of the most original movie ideas i've heard about in a while....can't wait to see it!

I liked this movie . It had heart and was a little different . I thought Mos def did a good job . This is one of the better comedies i have seen in a while.
