Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black & Mos Def

One theatre in our town has this on only one screen with 4 showings...it can't be that good so I don't plan on paying 8 bucks to see it.

Right... you're basing a movie's goodness on ONE theater's screen times?

The only theatre and we have 3:o Do you think the people that manage the theatres have no idea how to gauge how good a movie will do? I don't expect this to be any good as Jack Black hasn't been funny for about 3 years:o

The movie didn't get that wide of a release this week, it only hit around 800 screens and will be expanding  It's got an average of 69% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Don't be so bull-headed on things.

When movie tickets are over 8 bucks here, I think me being cautious is not anything short of smart:o Maybe movies will start to get good again like No Country. Jack Black is the same character in every movie and Will Ferrel is doing the same...yet people flock to those movies:csad:

This movie was freakin' awesome. It made me want to go outside with my camera and start filming stuff again.

Disappointed. The "remake" scenes were hilarious, but the rest was just dull. No chemistry between the characters. Mos Def seemed like he didn't know his lines, and Jack Black was annoying. And I like Jack Black. Skip it.

That was the point. Mos Def's character was supposed to have no confidence, so that's why he had such a weak way of speaking. Jack Black's character was supposed to be a nuisance, which is why he was "annoying."

So I was watching a movie with unlikable characters. Didn't make it a good movie. It was a good idea, poorly executed.

This movie had a lot of heart. I liked it alot, shame it got a few mediocre reviews (69% on Rotten Tomatoes).

Its a pretty light hearted affair and I guess its Gondry's letter to filmmaking. The sweded films are funny as hell and the montage of them filming the shorts was pretty creative. I suppose if you cant stand Jack Black in general your gonna hate this flick and they were a few WTF moments (the whole setup to Jerry getting magnetised) but overall the whole smalltown behind us story works for me.

lol@ Jerry trying out for Fats Waller :wow: :cmad: :funny: .Im suprised no one flipped out at his Jackie Chan with the taped up eyes lol.

Good stuff it might get a DVD purchase off charm alone.

Michel Gondry swedes the Be Kind Rewind Trailer (hope this hasn't been posted already - haven't seen it in this thread):

Forrest Gump Sweded:

Check it out!!! Please rate/comment!!!

I thought this was a pretty good movie. Made me laugh a pretty good amount. Kind of sad towards the end. But overall, pretty good movie.

that sweded thing was funny as hell

i laughed my ass off at the ghostbusters remake

that alone is worth the admission fee

priceless

It was very silly, and most everything that happens plot-wise is completely unbelievable, but it was indeed a cute movie. You do have to like Jack Black though. I think he's pretty funny, but if you don't like him, he's going to drive you crazy in this movie.

Exactly, it was just a good, fun movie. I might pick it up on dvd too

I loved that part with jerry being fats lol, everyone in the theater couldnt stop laughing

I just watched, thought it was hilarious. Jack Black was real funny in this. The Remake scenes made it of course....loved the swapping the pizza in for blood :lmao:, also loved the makeup job on Driving Miss Daisy. I would suggest it to anyone on the fence.
