Sci-Fi Mickey 17

I loved it, really cemented Robert as one of the most intriguing actors of our generation. Toni Collette is always wonderful

I have a very simple solution. Fire David Zaslav.
There's another part of the solution missing here. Bring people to actually go to theaters instead of whining online about the lack of original movies......

I enjoyed this a lot, it's just a straight up sci fi movie with no planning for a franchise or Easter eggs for future projects. The cast were great, Pattinson was totally convincing throughout even playing 2 different versions of the same guy. I never once questioned I was seeing 2 different people at all.

He was more than ably supported by Yuen and Ackie, with Ruffalo and Collette just chewing scenery throughout. The movie could have maybe been a bit shorter but overall I loved what we got. Nothing dragged for me and I was always able to follow what was happening.

8/10.

I feel like the simplest solution is to lower ticket and concession prices but I can't see studios and theater chains budging on that. People shouldn't have to "subscribe" to a movie theater to get kickbacks on movie tickets and snacks every once in a while.

True, but these released windows are way to small now. Just when you read about a film having some kind of legs, they release it on vod 15 plus days later. I mean, I know tis’ the reason why I didn’t even bother, my home set up is superior at this point to the theater experience. This is the norm now, except with a few big tent pole/ auteur flicks. Same day I got back from watching Nosferatu, we got the news it be on streaming a few weeks later. PTA will get me to the theaters this year, but 3 months in, I haven’t bothered.

Good opening and good final act but it's baggy and directionless in the middle.
Felt too loose at times like it needed to be a series and not a film which isn't helped by the over use of voice over exposition. Still, Bong always brings some great stuff and Pattinson is good in dual roles.
Just wish it was better. 3½ stars

Nice. I never got the chance to watch this in the theater, really looking forward to seeing it.
