MICKEY Rourke IS MARVelous.. AGAIN

hmmm.. that was news to ME!
i've only been doing this for 8 yrs.
don't mind me!

"Sin City" was based on graphic novels. Frank Miller had him popping in and out pretty-much the whole she-bang! 'Marv' is a classic anti-hero character. ('HARD TO KILL' OFF)
;)

Well he is in my favourite movie of all time, and he is my favourite character in the movie. I'll be reading this forum regarding his return.

Anyone think the performance of The Spirit will effect SC2? I hope not, and I sincerely hope Rodriguez returns as well. Miller on his own I wouldnt be too confident in after the reviews The Spirit got.

Sadly, had this actually been Sin City 2, I dont think the criticisms would be as harsh. Lines like "Im going to kill you all kinds of dead" seem to sound okay in Basin City, but nowhere else.

I really hope not, but likely it will.

Seeing as how he mentioned that he is claustrophobic in his recent interview with SHH!

I like to point out that if Rourke is interested to play the Crimson Dynamo, a character in a confined metal suit, why is he so scared to play Marv again?

Just out of curiosity.

Because for the most part, the Crimson Dynamo would be in CG...since ILM proved they could easily pull off sufficient, even superior, looking CG as far as meeting the needs of 'Iron Man' (armor, etc.)

Marv was also a CGI heavy character as well. They could just add the parts onto his face if they wanted.

No, I knew they were prosthetics, I thought they also used cgi to blend his face to look more realistic.

Even if they didn't, you got movies like X-men 3 (young Xavier and Lensherr) and Beowolf to prove they can add effects digitally to an actor's face.

Me too. Marvel would be wise not to screw this up. Big names sell.

Never one to tip-toe around the truth, Rourke said the “Sin City 2″ rumors are just that and that he has no plans of taking on the role of Marv again. If director Robert Rodriguez were to whip something up, however, he’d be happy to talk about it.

If they could do it right, I would love to see the sequel, it's pretty much everything I would want in a movie.

I can assure you that they don't use CGI to blend seams on prosthetics for most characters like this. That's all in the hands of FX artists. The only thing they may alter to make the FX look better is lighting.

I just watched the Sin City featurette on the DvD, and you are 100% right, his face is all make up. I might have confused the idea when he's wearing the pink bandages, and thought there were other portions being digitally done, but I know now anyways.

Still though, digital faces aren't that much of a stretch nowadays, with the right budget of course.
