My speculation from the trailer:

I am guessing Ethan is launching a satellite or some type of dish?

They are going out of their way to tease Ethan making a big sacrifice. It almost seems obvious that he is going to die in this movie.

Those people protesting outside of the Capitol: I am thinking the Entity is reeking havoc on technology and creating chaos all over the world, and the government is getting the blame. There seems to be a disaster movie feel to some of this.
