Doctor Jones but do you agree that every shot in this movie was already done in previous movies? it looks a little cliche. this is not a complaint.

At least it does not take any shots from other movies or the other movies

Just a thought... anyone think there's a chance this movie takes place BEFORE Mission Impossible 3? That might explain Ethan's long hair and the lack of Michelle Monaghan's character.

I doubt it, but it's possible. Cruise ages slower than a Dunedain, so he really doesn't look any older now, lol.

That's actually an interesting idea.
But i dont think so.

For some reason though, I dont think Renner is actually going to take over the franchise. I think it'll sort of be like the Scream series situation

Yeah, I don't think he is, either. Although I could see it turning into more of a "buddy" action movie franchise with Renner having nearly as much screentime as Cruise.

Provided of course Renner isn't actually the bad guy in this, that is.

Saw TF3 yesterday in IMAX.
HOnestly it was quite refreshing to see a trailer that didn't end with " IN 3d ! ".
Certain parts of the movie are filmed with IMAX cameras and i do hope that the Dubai skyscraper scene is filmed in format cause it looked awesome.

trailer looks cool though I could have done without the lame hippity hop. The first movie is still the only one that captured the feel of the tv shows for me but that's 15 years ago so I guess I should let it go.

I will see this in IMAX. I mean that opening shot of TDK in IMAX was incredible and completely immersive. And this skyscraper is being shot in IMAX? The tallest building on Earth? That's worth the IMAX ticket alone. I can't even imagine what that's going to look like.

Not at all. I think it looks very much like its own thing. I do get a different and distinct feel from this one. The only thing that looks comparable from the previous films is Cruise's hair.

I somehow really love the shot of Cruise in the hood and jacket walking on the street looking around him when Wilkinson is saying, "Now I've been orderd to take you to Washington where they will hang the Kremlin bombing on you and your team."

Something about that I love. The composition and the low music in the background. And that's where I get the feel that it's its own thing. Don't ask me why, it's just something I feel. It's part of the magic of what makes movies so special. That special moment when things perfectly come together.

Except this is a trailer so it's kind of pointless for me to be saying this.

I really fell in love with this trailer. Even the Eminem music got me pumped for seeing it. However, one thing that really got on my nerves about it (that I have yet to hear be complained about in most movie trailers) are the almost constant cuts to black. Why do movie trailers do this so often? It works when revealing a character (like the first full-shot of Tom as Ethan), but when it's just there to look flashy: it doesn't.

i dont like the hood shots. its the definition of ''CLICHE''. that shot, that idea behind that shot has been used 100 times.
and IMO it makes no sense. by having the hood on without raing and looking left and right makes you normal on the street?

sorry Doc but you used the biggest cliche shot in the trailer IMO.

The choice of using a hood is cliche? He's simply concealing his identity. And this is just a trailer. We don't know of its context. And does it matter if something as trivial as that is used a lot? If it works it works. They don't need to opt for something different for the sake of it being cliches. Especially something as insignificant as a hood.

Loved, LOVED that shot. It was new at least in this series. I mean, Hunt (likely) on the run but not in a hurry wearing ordinary clothes. THAT was the spy I REALLY wanted to see in this series.

The part about the gloves "blue is glue, red you're dead" reminded me of the first movie when Emilo gave him the explosive chewing gum. The Eminem song sounded good in my opinion, although I was more interested in seeing all the clips.

I also really dig the hood shot,It may not be original and perhaps seen as Cliched But I think it'll work just fine,Unoriginal&Cliched doesn't always automatically equal bad!!!

I don't see that big of a deal or funny about Cruise running in his movies!

There should be a Mission Impossible Kinect Running Game

What's the big deal about Cruise running? He's been in a number of action and suspense movies where he ran. So what?

Would people rather he walk calmly as he's trying to find a bomb that could wipe out the Eastern seaboard?
