That left hand is suspiciously ring-less. :whatever:

Took it off because he's on assignment?

Ofcourse if his wife was killed or it didn't work out maybe that's why he's not wearing it.

Looking at Ving Rhames recent work, to get a 7 figure payday is not something he should turn down.

Its sort of disgusting in this day and age to hear an actor in this economy act like $3,000,000 isn't enough. I know its probably less after taxes but c'mon.

Is it that bad putting up with Tom Cruise and his stuff? I mean he did it for three movies already.

Even Cruise is taking a pay cut

After the commercial disappointment of Knight and Day, Hollywood studio Paramount has reportedly lost faith in Tom Cruise’s ability to draw at the box office and have cut the upcoming fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible series’ $135 million production budget in half.

Though the film is moving ahead on schedule, Cruise is rumored to have agreed to be paid "scale," – the Screen Actors Guild minimum payment – taking nearly no salary up front and being paid only after the studio makes back its investment.

With production slated to begin in September, two-time Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird – who will be making his live-action film debut, after overwhelming success with animated films such as The Incredibles and Ratatouille – has been readying his actors in recent days, while the studio finalizes the budget. –ANDREW BANKIN

Doesn't Rhames think that in a movie where Tom feckin' Cruise is taking a paycut, maybe he ought to set his sights a bit lower? I mean $3m is still a lot of money, considering that his presence or absence in the movie is unlikely to change its intake at the box office.

This is why movies with sequels are so damn tricky. You have to keep the actors but up their pay for additional installments.

Or you hire unknowns and give them a base salary. Andrew Garfield is only getting 500,000 for the first movie but will get double for future movies.

That video has officially made my morning!!!

And I didn't realize he voiced Edna in The Incredibles!

Lol. That video was pure gold.

Yes. I love how Cruise and Simon Pegg are in on the joke.

They should include the 'speech' on the DVD and Blu-ray release. Maybe as an Easter egg or something.

I thought the very same thing Mclay18.

Really???

Maguire was paid $5million then $17million and then $25million for the respective 3 spidey movies. Jeez.

One, Sony's being cheap with this whole Spider-Man Reboot anyway, and two, so what? Garfield got cast before everyone was slobberin' his jock for The Social Network. Before that, and everyone was speculating the the candidates for the role, a lot of folks were saying "Anyone but that Andrew Garfield guy!".

everytime Cruise is part of the joke its funnny as hell. the guyhas a good sense for humor.

to bad that he is crazy :woot:

Tom Cruise should take a paycut because he's not a draw like he used to be and the last Mission Impossible movie drew disappointing numbers. Knight Day tanked.

Ving Rhames should've accepted the offer to be in the movie because it's freaking MI:4 and it's a 7 figure job that many people would kill to have these days.

So what is the story with Ethan and his wife from the last movie? Are they already dropping that angle?

I think part of the problem right now with this economy is that government and state workers don't get that we are freaking broke and that they should get pay cuts just like everyone else but they won't accept it and still want to retire with their fat pensions early.

Really, I didn't even know Garfield was in the running until it was announced....and from the sounds of things, why would people here be saying anyone but Garfield when they didn't even know who he was let alone see any of his work. Out of all the candidates, Garfield is the superior actor and I for one was well aware of who he was and his body of work prior to being cast.

Anyway, my point is, regardless of sony being cheap, Maguire imo didn't deserve the pay cheques he was getting for these movies.

That wasn't Tom's fault, Fox advertised that film all wrong and didn't even show Diaz or Cruises face on any of the posters and didn't have them do the regular publicity appearances you do for a TOM CRUISE movie.

so what if it wasnt hes fault?

he still got a big paycheck right?

Yeah he did and rightfully so, I mean it's not his fault the PTB decided to take a bad approach to advertising the film.

Honestly that amount for Garfield sounds fair. He's not really proven he can carry a movie yet on his own let a lone a popcorn superhero movie. Not to mention he's already starting this role at a pretty advanced age for Peter Parker.

His managers probably got him some good points or back end deal stuff. And if the movie is a hit and it does well he can negotiate for more.

And Maguire could? The general audience didn't even know who Maguire was at the time, he hadn't exactly carried a movie on his own either and didn't have any commercial success or recognition the way Garfield has prior to this new spidey movie coming out and yet Maguire got paid a whopping $5million.

Imo regardless of Garfield's age, not only does he look younger than Tobey did for sm1 but he's a better and more versatile actor than Maguire easily. I have no doubt Garfield will command more for the sequel but I guess and am willing to bet that for Garfield this more a labour of love, he probably would have taken on the role for free.

what has hes acting to do with the paycheck. they are not paid based on how good they are. blockbuster movies are made for money. and the actor needs to bring the money in to deserve a paycheck.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol:

On the trailer: It’s kind of hard to say why it was so impressive, but it was. And I’ve talked to bunch of people, and everyone [agrees] that it was trailer of the day. It works so hard, especially when the trailer comes to its ending, [where] we see Tom Cruise hanging down on the world’s biggest building in Dubai. It really blew mind. Maybe the reason for its success is in the fact that we haven’t see something like that for a long time…a large scale spy thriller going all around the world.

An action packed trailer, featuring lots of beautiful girls, Jeremy Renner's character, Cruise & the questionable climbing on the world's tallest building. Add one of Nine Inch Nails' song to it = perfect trailer!

One of our posters saw it as well.

The description sounds cool. Can't wait for the trailer.
