i don't like your example there with superman. just because he is stronger doesn't mean krypotinans asr smarter due to gentics. sure they were smart, but that's because they'd been around much longer than humans. i'm not saying superman is dumb, i figure he should be like an intelegent regular guy, but batman's a genius.batman has trained not only his body but also his mind, and knows that information is power. and if there's something he doesn't know, he knows how to find out ( ithink supes could do this too, but batman will figure out that he needs it before supes would)
thats why i said they're smarter due to evolution dude. read my post again ;) thats why i gave an example about the Neanderthals. i'm not saying that humans are Neanderthal level next to Kryptonians, its just an analogy i'm using in terms of cerebral advancement. also your thinking that just because Batman has to try harder should mean Superman is less intelligent than him-- that is a mistake lazy and ignorant writers always make, and unfortunately they pass this on to the new generation of readers.

both men are the smartest of their breed, however their thought process is different, Batman is more lateral, Superman is more linear, you can see it in their crimefighting styles-- Superman usually goes for the direct approach first (usually the peaceable route), Batman circles the target then goes for the kill (figuratively of course)

What about Ray Palmer? Don't tell me Batman's smarter than him too. :woot:
some of DC's smart men tend to be just specialists of their field, Batman is a jack of all trades and an apprentice of all.

Wow. Superman's the smartest of his breed. And there's what, Supergirl and Zod to compete with? :)

Good points though, about their differing thought processes.

Hahahaha this is just gold. Gives a whole new meaning to Batgod.

Last week's rumour about Batman kicking the Batbucket to be replaced by a sidekick is kicking up steam. As Valerie D'Orazio picks up on, the original plan was for all the main DC icons to die and be elevated to the status of New Gods as part of the Fifth World, their sidekicks filling the roles they left behind.

However, that plan was abandoned internally at DC and reduced to a Bat-storyline by Grant Morrison. So look for Bruce Wayne New God to go head-to-head with Darkseid in "Final Crisis."

Classic. They're going to lose so many readers. And gain so many more.

That's ****ing stupid.

Dick Grayson's gonna become Batman right? He'd better be or they've really ****ed up.

I doubt this will last long anyway. Bruce Wayne not being Batman? Yeah that'd work. :whatever:

hmm Bruce getting superpowers. ah well seen something similar to it before recently (Black Rock Batman), i hope is good for story's sake.

If Bruce dies, Dick is going to takeover (right age, reference in #666). Then down the line Tim will takeover (Titans Tomorrow). Then after that, Damian (Batman #666).

My educated "Ultimate" Batman is around the Horizon. Especially with the multiverse back. Yes, I am AWARE of All-Star Batman and Robin.

One of the ideas I had for years is that DC makes an "Ultimate Batman" set on a earth that is less fantastical. Bats being its ONLY hero. No Superman, Wondy or any other DC heroes. Dick Grayson or Barbara would appear, but there would be no Robin or Batgirl. In concept its almost like Nolan's Batman in comic form, or Superman: Identity by Busiek. Another example is Punisher Max (no mainstream Marvel heroes in it). It would be gritty, unrelenting and uncensored. If people hated it, they can go back to mainstream Bats instead of whining about it.

^^ thats essentially Nolanverse in comic book form

Except that since it's not, Batman, while attempting to maintain an air of mystery and fear, wouldn't spout things like "Nice coat".

Now that I think about it, Batman and Jesus are opposites in just about every way.

Yes and no. Yes, in how its "only Batman". In practice I think it would be an entirely different animal. It wouldn't be handicapped by time (2.5hr movie compared to multiple issue arcs). This allows for greater exposition of plot and character. Second, more importantly, it wouldn't be censored.

The final thing I want to add is that this series ought to have a beginning and end. From issue 1 to 60 (roughly 10 arcs; 6 issues each) to give it a "complete" feel. This would force the writer(s) to compress the most important and better material without going into excessive decompression ala Bendis. This way it won't be a complete Ultimate Marvel clone.

Yeah, me too. The comic book rubber rule or something like that. Wait, that is probably something else...But I think it applies.

hmm, kind of like what All Star Batman should've been.

man i would welcome your version

I think if they go through with this crappy idea, having Dick fill his shoes would make it slightly less crappy, IMO.

Yeah, that's the best way to do it, but 'Dick fill his shoes' sounds kinda gross. :oldrazz: :yay:

This movie is the perfect chance to get the perfect Batman! Morrisons Preptime Batgod all the way!!

I'm all right with "Morrison's Preptime Batgod," so long as we don't get really absurd with Batman's strategic plays. If it doesn't impact my enjoyment of the film, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be applied to this incarnation of Batman.
