Mortal Kombat X

That's what I mean when I say MK fans keep MK from evolving. If it's not the same characters over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again they get pissy. In a game that's about win or die.. It's about freaking time we have characters that die and stay dead. I'd be perfectly fine if the only characters from the last game that survived are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Johnny and Sonya. Bring on new characters.. create new classics.. Let the complainers complain because they'll end up buying it in the long run anyway.

None of that will happen though. We'll get old characters back either revealed through the year or pop up as surprises. Boon won't risk ticking people off.. even though I wish he'd be ballsy and do it. I was mad as hell when Scorpion wasn't in MK3... but oddly when UMK3 came out it just felt like.. I dunno.. Unneeded, by that time I was over it. MK9 had a good story and it really seems like MKX could as well.. Everyone needs to calm down and just watch the game.. Progress.

You are correct, for as long as I've played Mortal Kombat fans have had a real issue in not moving forward beyond the first 3 games. Yes they were great and MK9 really paid homage to them in the best possible way. Now is the time for the series to move on, for a new generation of fighters and gamers to take the series forward. If that means pissing people off then so be it, the nostalgia crowd had it good in the last game, now is the time to either embrace moving forward or stick with what you love and stay with MK9.

Hey guys new to the Hype. My love of MK brought me. So Boon confirmed the last gen versions will be ported by a different studio. For any who are getting 360/PS3 versions, what do you think?

OOOOOOh. So MKX is being done by a different studio. I'm cool with this, that will allow MKX by NRS to not be held back.

My problem with Deadly Alliance and Deception were not just a bunch of new characters but was mostly the stories and gameplay,This seems like a new beginning more like MK4 and not DA&Deception and MK 4 is one of my top games in the franchise.

Some of the old top characters are returning and the MK9 gameplay is the same but just improving upon by using some Injustice elements,The original concept of the MK tournament is once every generation too so I don't see any big problem

Yeah I agree. I will prob upgrade by next year but if not I'm not too concerned. I don't see the ps3/360 versions looking too different from the newer consoles.

I'll probably upgrade given Arkham Knight isn't coming to PS3. Good thing it was delayed, given me more time to save cash.

Hidey-ho Johnny, welcome to the Hype.

Regarding re-using characters, I think the problem came from the fact that new characters were so hit-or-miss. For every cool character you had like Kenshi or Bo Rai Cho, there were your Tanyas, Jareks, Hotarus...

I don't like the Injustice influence at all :/

MK9 was in the right track going back to the roots. It was a little slow, agreed, but that could be easily fixed. I don't like interactives, neither from a casual pov, neither from a pro pov.

I would love to see a comeback for running only at the beginning of the fight, like it was shown in the first trailer. I think adding a stamina resource is unnecesary. More to keep in mind, and you already have to take care of your opponent, watch your opponent's health and super meter, your own healt and super meter, etc.

Dashing should not be penalized, because it gives another pace to the fight. Although, we will have to see about this, given that running is now on the table.

Loved Kotal Khan, but was a bit over-hyped with the rumor of him being a reworked Shinnok.

Cassie Cage is a good credible new addition, i think it has enough personality, and is interesting gameplay-wise.

Loved that NRS is experimenting with personal mechanics for each character, and it should be interesting the "stances" addition.

E3 2014: Ed Boon Talks Mortal Kombat X

I think that confirms that either Johnny, Sonya, or both are in.

really? what did he mention? I just dont have sound right now so I cant watch lol that would make sense since they survived the last game, but I wont use this to get my hopes up for the other klassic characters as most of them did not survive

He mentioned how someone asked him, what they'd do about Fatalities with family members. And he said how he was all like "Oh, ****.... we never thought about that." Then he said "Ah, screw it. We'll probably just go ahead and let them do it anyways."

To me, that's a strong hint that either mommy or daddy made it into the game.

:up: Gotta hand it to them to NRS for actually trying to progress the MK mythos with this game.
