I'd be completely fine with it. Since Cassie is really her own character. I haven't seen any scissor or bicycle kicks yet, the standard shadow kick, any type of energy bolts. So adding both, Johnny and Sonya, wouldn't be redundant at all. They'd still be unique, because Cassie fights completely different.

He mentioned how someone asked him, what they'd do about Fatalities with family members. And he said how he was all like "Oh, ****.... we never thought about that." Then he said "Ah, screw it. We'll probably just go ahead and let them do it anyways."

To me, that's a strong hint that either mommy or daddy made it into the game.

they had no problem with sindel murdering kitana in story mode, or kitana doing a fatality on sindel

but this is definitely good news...maybe they could release klassic characters as an alternate "stance" so maybe you can pick the "johnny" stance for cassie and it will just be johnny cage

if the story continues from MK9 it'll likely just be Johnny, Sonya and Raiden (and possibly a horribly disfigured and pissed off liu kang)

DLC characters are unknown since they were not killed in the story of MK9 and could maybe return (skarlet, kenshi, rain)

She combines her parent's moves. I don't remember how Sonya played in MK9, but Cassie has a similar move like Cammy in SFIV. It's the cannon spike, where she launches feet first into the air. But hers is basically a shadow cannon spike.

So she really is an original character. She isn't like Jarek or Kira, who are just clone characters.

anyone else find it odd they have actualy silhouettes on the character select screen? they are usually generic, but if you look you can actually see differences, one of the outlines actually looks like rorschach! this could just be to throw the fans off though, I dont think Boon would give anything away at this point that could reveal the roster

One silhouette also looks like the Terminator. I think they used random silhouettes on purpose, to throw us off. They could also be hints to certain characters. Maybe the Terminator silhouette confirms that we'll get one of the cyborgs back. And Obama could hint to Baraka.

Fans had some fun with matching the silhouettes.

im not going to hope for any particular characters to return as that would just be setting myself up for dissapointment, plus I like all of them a lot so I couldnt choose anyway, ill just be happy with whatever returning characters they make, ill just expect not many will return so I wont be dissapointed, and I wont hold out for any of my faves (although I'd love to see reptile return lol)

Ed Boon said that the character select screen is meant to contain deceptions, so I wouldn't be analyzing it too closely.

Re: Motaro as a boss: I'm not really sure he qualifies as 'surprising', but YMMV.

Sonya or Johnny WOULD fit the definition of 'surprising', but I'm not sure that NRS would have the audacity to turn one of them evil in the same game in which their daughter gets introduced.
